| Today I ate 200g of seafood salad. There was no nutritional information on the packet, the ingredients were cockles, prawns, mussels and squid. Can anyone help me as to how I should count this? I am thinking maybe only count as 1 or 2 carbs, I count calories too so not sure how to add this up.

| Sorry, I'm not a counter, but if that was all that was in your seafood salad, it's perfectly fine. I would be more worried about whether they added some kind of sugar to the mayonnaise

| Thanks. There was no mayo, just seafood, no dressing or anything. How many calories do you reckon then? To be on the safe side I have counted it as 300 calories and 2 carbs.

| Follow this link http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ it's a great way to get your nutritional info. |

| Alcmene, There is no way that we could tell you the count as it would depend on how much of each type of seafood was in your seafood salad. Cockles have about 22 calories and 1 carb per ounce (approx 28 grams); Mussels are about 49 calories and 2.1 carbs per ounce; squid is about 50 calories and 2.2 carbs per ounce; and prawns (shrimp) are about 28 calories and 0 carbs per ounce. If you assume equal amounts by weight of 50 grams of each ingredient, your totals would be approximately 268 calories and 9.54 carbs. If there were more prawns, the carb count would be lower.

| Thanks! I wish everything that we could possibly buy had nutritional information on it! It is hard as well because in the UK everything is in kilos and grams, not ounces, cups don't even exist, it took me ages to find a set to use! Chesnut, seen that link but for the UK?

| Actually, most of the sites I've seen measure in terms of nutritional info per 100g. I'm pretty sure this is the default on fitday. At this point in my diet though, rather than measuring out food, I know what foods I should eat, and what foods I shouldn't. Seafood good. Brownie bad. Sausage good. Pizza bad. I just use the labels to make sure the carbs don't creep too high per serving.
