| Chocolate pudding On another list I recently read about beating powdered chocolate into sour cream and then sweetening it -- it's sort of an instant pudding and is probably posted everywhere, except it was the first I remember reading of it. Anyway, last weekend I went to a convent where the nuns sell fromage blanc. I'm not that familiar fromage blanc, but it tasted like sour cream and I treated it as such. I beat some powdered chocolate into in it and left it unsweetened. It was very good and next time I'll serve it with some mint which is overtaking the garden. Kinda decadent. I'll be trying the sour cream version soon. I should come up with a french sounding name, how about, Le weekend shortcut mousse ou Chocolate? |

| By "powdered chocolate" do you mean cocoa powder? (Like Hershey's and the like?) Thanks!

Last night, tried this recipe again but using sour cream instead of fromage blanc. It wasn't as good -- it needed additional sweetening. Ironically, I bought more cocoa powder last night from a store that sold fromage blanc from Vermont of all places. Unfortunately, it read Fat free fromage blanc. It figures. It's possible to buy fat free fromage blanc, but not the regular stuff. |
