heating an atkins shake

"Low Carb Cooking" at Low Carb Diet Support: "Has anyone tried heating up an Atkin can of shake for a hot mocha type drink?? I would hate to waste one if someone else has done it and it doesn't work!!...."

Default heating an atkins shake

Has anyone tried heating up an Atkin can of shake for a hot mocha type drink?? I would hate to waste one if someone else has done it and it doesn't work!!

Good question. I'm afraid the protein the the shake might coagulate, and you'd have a lumpy hot mess. But, I've never tried it, so I don't really know. How about putting a little bit in a cup and nuke it for a few seconds to see, and if it doesn't work, you're not out an entire shake?

Beth, I've never tried heating an Atkins Shake, but I did try another lc brand and found the heated taste too "chemically" for me. It was......pretty bad. But you never know until you try! Give it a shot and let us know.

I drank one at room temperature, and it wasn't quite as tasty as when it is cold. But, that's me.
