Judy, here is a link to the USDA Nutrient database:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
You can find information on the carb count on most foods here. I use it as my base resource to rely upon, as you will find differences between databases.

Judy, here's another link to Carb Counter, a site that helps with your carb counting (what else?!)

Carbs in Rutabagas - Carb Counter

They show a cup of cooked cubes having just over 11 net carbs.

I find chunks of rutabagas in beef stew are a good replacement for both potatoes and carrots. Taste and texture wise, they add a nice note to it.

Maggie, you're so right! I've even used them to make a clam chowder, of sorts. And I dice them finely and brown them to use in the occasional breakfast burrito. The browning brings out their natural sweetness.

Yeah I used them the other night in a stew. They are delicious, then I got wondering about the carb count and couldn't find it in any of my books. I appreciated everyones help. I guess I could have googled it, but chose the easy way out since i had already consumed the Rutabegas. Judy
