Last night I did not want to cook, but had to, of course. Took some smoked sausage out of the freezer and thawed it a bit in the microwave oven. Dh wanted it with sauerkraut, but we didn't have enough for both of us. So I chopped a little onion (fresh from the garden), chopped some green cabbage, and sliced a few big radishes, browned it all together, added the sauerkraut and sliced sausage, let it simmer until all the flavors blended. It was very, very good.

Tonight, either fish or burgers. Perhaps a salad, or steamed zucchini. Wish I could make up my mind!

Leftovers tonight....I fried up some hamburger with onion and garlic and oregano. Added tomato sauce and some grated cauliflower to thicken. Layered it in a glass pan with cabbage between layers. Then put cheese on top. Really good!

Dixie, !!

Last night was supposed to be salmon. But the boys had pizza delivered. So I had the topping off of two peices and some veggies.

Tonight is salmon!

Last night I browned some Angus burgers, fixed some raw veggies (baby carrots, radishes and cherry tomatoes. Too tired to do anything else.

Tonight, if I go to WalMart to shop some, I'll pick up a rotisserie chicken. Perhaps throw together a salad, or steam some veggies, or both. Otherwise, who knows? Lately I've been in an "I don't want to cook" mode. Perhaps it's from eating out for 11 days. Tends to spoil ya.

DS has requested alfredo style caulicrust pizza again so I'll be having some, too. I may have some raw veggies and dip first....if I get in the kitchen and prepare them!

Hope you have a good time with your visit, Henry! That sounds fun.

Mab, back atcha!

Nita, I go through those "don't feel like cooking" phases myself. They come and go for me. Mine seem related to how busy I feel some, though.

Linda, hasn't DS requested that before? Seems like it's popular at your house.

I don't have any idea what I'm gonna fix up tonight...I did get some corned beef to try in the crockpot this weekend with some cabbage, since it sounded good and I haven't done tried making that before. It will probably be tomorrow, though.

Bought some country style ribs and they are in the oven as we speak. When I went to get the ingredients for the bbq sauce I picked up some heinz one carb ketchup. I saw that right next6 to it was Heinz sugar free. so I compared the 2 labels. Identical for calories and carbs. The ingredient lists were identical. only difference was the one carb was 50 cents more.

Getting here was NOT half the fun. Thunder storms delayed our flight from KC, so we missed our connection in St. Louis and waited there for 8 hours for another flight. Dinner at Chilis Too at the airport was a lettuce and tomato salad and a bunless bacon cheeseburger. (At least, unlike Christmas our luggage arrived and the car rental place was still open.)

My ddil does a good job of providing l/c options for me. Tonight, dinner was a Romaine lettuce salad w/tomato and cucumber, a grilled steak, and Dijon & cheddar crusted baked whole cauliflower. (She had me teach her my recipe for it and makes this for me when we come.)
