Default Omg ~ Omm!

I tried the OMM for the first time last night and all I can say is It is the best thing since sliced bread ~ literally! I had purchased some flax meal because so many people living lc talked about it but I wasn't sure what to do with it. Now I do! It is so easy too! I can't believe how wonderful the OMM is...and it is filled with fiber! I liked it so much that I made one this morning for breakfast with a bit more sweetner and some vanilla. Tonight I am going to try mixing in a little pesto for a savory muffin. With a salad and some grilled chicken, that will make a meal!

Blessings!

those things sure are versatile, aren't they? whatever you've got that sounds good, you can just toss in there for a whole different experience.

This is mostest favoritest thing! I am going to do one a day in order to keep things moving along *wink, wink* I love the fact that flax seed is so healthy. This has now become a staple in my diet!

Glo,
At some point, some folks(and that would be myself, for one, dang it!!!) do have to *watch* the calories and fat gms of their daily intake.
The way the OMM recipe is written, using only 1/4 C flaxmeal, 1 whole egg, and 2 tsp of oil, it is moderately fat and calorie dense coming in at:
273 cal
24g fat
12g pro
9g carb
8g fiber
1 net carb

In the past I recall a few folks saying eating 2 OMMs a day stalled them out with their weight loss.
Of course it's a YMMV.
Just an FYI thing.

Yeah, and then it depends on what you top it with - butter, peanut butter, cream cheese, etc. And also what you put in it. So make sure to factor in the extras! The OMM is one of my favorite evening snacks.

Shelley - I did see the calorie count and one a day is my limit. I typically don't put much on it. Maybe some spray butter or cream cheese. I just love the fiber content. With that and all the raw veggies I get my daily allowance for sure! I know from the last go round with LC that calories do count.

something you might want to play around with too are the different containers you can cook it in. I've some pyrex bowls I got from the market, they work great for making the OMM standard bun size. If I use my 1 cup pyrex measuring cup - it's more of a popover size - this is great to slice the into fourths - I use these as bottoms for open faced sandwiches with soup.
