....and my Wal-Mart supercenter is pretty great too

I went to TJs yesterday and found some terrific stuff:

*whole milk yogurt
*Organic sour cream
*sea salt -- both coarse and fine grain
*Organic Expeller processed coconut oil!
*nuts in abundance
*La Tortilla LC tortillas
*tons of other wonderful LC/healthy foods
[red]plus[/red]
*finely ground almond flour for less $$ than the whole raw almonds!!!!!!!! I think it was $2.39 a pound!

At Wal-Mart supercenter today I found:

*a great variety of cheese, much more reasonably priced than anywhere else except the United Grocers outlet store (restaurant supply)
*some great deals on meats and veggies
*Blue Bunny sugar free ice cream by the scads. I'm on induction, so I won't be imbibing, but my kids are in hog heaven
*Those Chef's Choice Low Carb Bowls were there. I was really impressed -- they were less than $3 each! I picked up 3 different ones (I think there were 8 choices.) Only one of the bowls didn't have tomatoes or peppers in it, but our house mate will be trying the two that we got that do. I'll be taste testing the beef and broccoli one. I think she chose Tuscany chicken and beef stew. I'll let you know how they are!

It is really nice to see some good stores carrying some good choices for those of us on this woe. My Safeway even has the LC tortillas now. I didn't think to check for LC bread at Wally's though, I do know TJs has it.

Just wanted to share

Blessings!

Very cool, Sharron. I'm making a monthly run to Trader Joe's tomorrow myself!

What I would give for a Trader Joe's. The closest one is in Indianapolis.

Yeah, go ahead and flaunt...
The closest TJ's is over an hour away in Danbury, CT, so I don't get there too often. But it is a terrific store.

Trader Joes is a retail chain that specializes in whole, natural, health type foods. www.traderjoes.com will tell you if there is one near you.

My Trader Joes is 1/2 hour away. I'm very thankful

Sharron, welcome back. We sure missed you. I'm glad your move went well and you are done "camping". My idea of camping is a hotel with no room service.
I LOVE Trader Joe's. I have been a customer for over 25 years starting when I lived in CA. When we first moved to WA there wasn't one and it was really the only store I missed. Finally we got one within 5 miles of our home. It is WONDERFUL.
P.S. I remember when they started at a closeout store for food and imported wine.

And their heavy cream (in the bottle with the pink cap) is great. When I can’t get the Land O Lakes gourmet heavy whipping cream, this one is an excellent pinch hitter.

And don’t forget the brie! Belletoile and the Trader Joes brand are excellent.

I'd be lost without my TJ's! They have SO many things that are low-carb-eating friendly.

AND the Atkins shakes (canned version) are $1.99 there, whereas everywhere else they seem to go from $2.59 UP!

I don't have WalMart close by so TJ's is my standby.

ahhhhhhhhhhh YES, I too love my Trader JOes - you can't beat the nut selection - 1 lb sunflower seeds salted & roasted (and hulled) for 99 cents a bag - what a treasure! I'm spoiled there are 2 TJ's within 20 minutes of my house.

Oh boohoo. I made my trip to TJ's Friday, but evidently the ones in the midwest don't carry the coconut oil....

However, I managed to spend a wad on all the other goodies....
