| My: Do It Yourself Protein Shake 1 scoop of whey protein powder (I am using BioPlex Natural flavor)(I got it from www.BeyondMuscle.com) 2 Tbsp heavy cream (I would use more cream if I weren't on WW) 2-4 cups cold decaf coffee 2 tsp egg white powder (makes the drink frothy and adds a bit of protein) 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder some vanilla Splenda (about 12 packets) ice cubes (at least 6, sometimes up to 14-15) I blend this until the ice isn't in chunks anymore. It is very tasty. If you use water intead of coffee and leave the cocoa out, you could use SF syrups in fruit flavors and make a fruit-flavored drink. | I have added a small amount of dietary fiber to this mixture. I add a small teaspoon to the mix. I found one that is .5g of carbs at Wal-Mart. It is expensive, but I use just a bit each time. Ilse 380/304.6(WW)/154 5'7" "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" Walt Disney |

| My cousin said he puts some olive oil in this protein shake mixture. Yesterday, when I made the shake, I put in two scoops of protein powder (BioPlex makes a Chocolate Mousse flavored one that's on sale until the end of the month on a website, I believe it's at www.vitacost.com ). I also added 1T of olive oil. It was very filling and didn't trigger hunger cravings. When I started eating veggies (fresh cucumbers), all I wanted was to eat more and more. | Ilse, Have you ever used psyllium husks? I get them at the HFS; they sell them in bulk and for $2.00 I get a big baggie full. Pretty much all fiber, and I throw them in a lot of stuff...protein shakes, muffins, flaxseed cereal, chili, etc. for extra fiber. They're a good low-cost fiber source, IMHO. | Ilse, shake sounds good. I too will add coffee on occasion. instead of coconut (which i dont like the flavor of) I will use peanut Butter Da Vinci's - but i normally will only do that when it's strictly a chocolate shake, no coffee added. I too will add Phyllium husks for that added fiber My LC web site LCE Member since 12/00 |

| The other thing I started doing to my protein shake is to add a tablespoon of olive oil (I make a lot at one time). It makes the shake more filling. Ilse 380/304.6(WW)/229.5(current)/154 5'7" "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" Walt Disney |
