I just have to brag on this wonderful tasting fish. I put a little butter and creole seasoning on it and baked it...it was soooooo good. Does anyone cook this fish, if so how do you do yours? I would love to have some more suggestions to change up the flavor here and there. Thanks!

I like to grill cod or grouper. I put a dry rub on and grill, basting with butter. It is delicious. Try making fish imperial style. Add crab meat on top after grilling! Yummy!

Pan fry the talapia in a mix of butter/olive oil, season with garlic and onion powder, remove fish from pan when done, squeeze lime or lemon juice into pan to make a sauce from the pan drippings.

I bake it with butter and lemon pepper seasoning, or I make a hollandaise (some packets have 0 carbs, and are made with water), and add some tiny shrimp to it, and pour that over.

OH!! we just LOVE talapia!!

i usually top it with a pat of butter, some fresh lemon, then with a ground nut (mostly pine... but i'll use macs or pecans too)

I'll also use a mixture of parmesan cheese with the ground nuts... that works great too.

Didn't make this with talapia but I've started doing steamed fish. I caught my first walleye this week. I had a friend over from Macau who gutted it for me the way they do at home, leaving the head intact. I laid on a plate, stuffed with green onion and a slice of ginger, & then put the whole plate on the grid in the top of my turbo cooker. I put fresh green beans all around the fish & steamed for 10 minutes. When I took it out, I poured soy sauce over the fish and a pat of butter on the beans. It was awesome.

Talapia is our favorite. I was always used to breading it and then frying it. When I started the low-carb I tried just frying it with no breading. BIG MISTAKE! Even though I used plenty of oil, it stuck badly and just fell apart. It was a mess. Last night I marinated it in Italian dressing for about an hour and grilled it on my George Foreman grill. It was great and didn't fall apart.

This recipe has been in my family for years. It is fantastic on the tilapia!

Baked Fish with Butter Sauce

1 # white fish (haddock, halibut, red snapper, tilapia etc.)
½ c. melted butter
lemon
green onion
celery salt
salt and pepper
a little paprika
parsley

Put fish in pan. Pour/sprinkle each ingredient on top. Bake at 400 for 20 min.
