Can someone tell me if no-sugar added tomato sauce is hard to find? I have looked in every grocery in my area with no luck.

it is possible. unfortunately, it has been so long since i've purchased any tomato products, that i can't remember the brands. i believe Contadina is one and maybe S&W is another, but don't quote me!

sorry i couldn't be more helpful...

    Blessings!

Thank you Sharron. I can't believe the recipes that I am finding that are suppose to be okay for induction. They call for Tomato Sauce and the only ones I can find have sugar in them. Sure was hoping that someone would have a magic answer for me.
    Thanks again

When something called for tomato sauce, I just bought Contadina tomato paste (lowest carbs I found), and added enough water to make it saucy.

    Tammyjoe,

I've never bought tomato sauce. I make my own and often use various canned tomatoes depending on what kind of sauce I'm making. I get things like paste, puree, crushed, etc.

Tomatoes naturally have sugar, so you have to take that into account - and into your "carb count", of course.

I would imagine that as long as the ingredients don't list any no-no's, such as sugar or corn syrup, then the "sugar" number in the nutrition box is simply the naturally occuring sugar in the tomatoes. Based on that, you can decide how much of it you can eat.

Thank you all very much for all your help. This WOL can get a little confusing at first. Unfortnately, right now I'm having trouble eating enough calories. I've been out of Ketosis for 2 days. Guess it's a hold over from the good ole days of dieting!!!
