| Expert Foods: Real Cream, Dry Dairy Cream. I recently tried this product and I am just amazed at how much it tasts like regular cream from a bottle. Expert Foods, which also mfgs of ThickenThin products, makes this product from cream and nonfat milk as an alternative to powdered coffee creamers. Unlike most powdered creamers, Real Cream has no hydrogenated additives; so I presume it is free of bad transfats. Ingredients: cream, nonfat milk, soy lecithin, contains less than 2% silicon dioxide as an anti caking agent. It tastes wonderful. In texture, it is very similar to Cremora or Coffemate, though it doesn't melt quite as readily in a hot beverage. However, unlike other non-dairy dry creamers, any little unmelted lumps are completely delicious! The package suggests it does not "whiten" coffee as much as non-dairy creamers. However, I'd say it whitens at least as much as a comparable amount of liquid cream. As an experiment, I reconstitued Real Cream with an equal amount of hot water and tried to whip it. In my experiment, it did not whip into a froth like regular cream. The package shows recipes for making LC cookies and crepes usingReal Cream instead of flour. I imagine they are delicious. But, at $10/per 6 oz. bag, I don't think many of us will be cranking out batches of holiday cookies with this stuff. Despite the expense, it's a convenient alternative carrying a bottle of cream or half-and-half for use in hot beverages when you are away from home. | Cool, Teel! Sounds like an excellent thing to take on a road trip, where you can't always get your preferred "whitener." Thanks for the tip! Maggie 5'1" ~~ Atkins since '98 (160)/Maintaining nicely (110) ~~ Redhead until further notice! |

| Teelbee! That is awesome! My next Netrition order will include some of that, for sure. How cool to be able to have cream available whenever and whereever; plus the potential in recipes where you want creaminess but not more liquid. Thanks for sharing with us!!
