If you haven't tried MarcieLynn's recipe for Beefy Bean Chili...you MUST! I regret I hadn't tried it before now. Homemade chili is a tradition at our house on Halloween. Made Marcie's last night and the entire pot was eaten. Even the non-LCers loved it. Marcie Lynn's Chili The Edensoy black soybeans are awesome. I was very impressed with the taste and texture. There is nothing soy tasting about them. Do yourself a favor and try them. Edensoy Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02

Susan Yes, I second your rave review. I think I'll make some this week. Great for dinner one time and for lunches after that if you're single like me. Thanks marcie! Rob

I love those canned soybeans! Try making refrieds with them too - mash them coarsely, add some garlic salt or powder, and fry 'em up in a pan with some bacon fat. I haven't tried Marcie's chili yet but now that the colder weather seems to have descended upon us (frost this morning!) I will be making it soon. I also bought some dried black soybeans so am anxious to experiment with those as well! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on!

I just went out and bought 6 cans of Eden Black Soybeans! Used 2 in my chili tonight. I go thru those cans like crazy!!! I find them in the health foods section of my local grocery store...another grocery store has them by the regular black beans. Cheers! Jen Started Atkins 5.5.03 196/179/155

You can get them at health food stores, I would imagine Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. You can order them direct from Edenfoods, the link is in my post above. When at their website, their is a store locator there as well. [This message was edited by Kumus on 11-02-03 at 06:29 AM.]

Tanya, spices are very much optional. If you don't like hot spicy, then omit the hot Indian chili powder. My DS added Tabasco to his because he likes HOT chili. Just adjust the spice amounts according to your taste! Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02

| Hey Susan, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it Tanya, I don't think it's very spicey. I can't eat really spicey things either so my stuff if usually pretty mild. But, like Susan said, don't put the spicey powder in and then taste it. If it's TOO little spice, add some. Easy to massage the ingredients.
