What exactly is Stevia? I assumed that it was another sweetener but I've noticed a lot of recipes y'all have posted on here that include it with Splenda.

So what's the scoop?

194/178.5/125 (5'4)

And I'm gonna make it this time!

Hi again Patricia...LOL
Stevia is actually an herb. It is 70 times sweeter than sugar in it's raw form. Most people find they get better tasting results when you mix 2 sweetners; they seem to enhance each other and have less "aftertaste".
Before I started Atkins, I "mixed" pink and blue for years(sweet n lo and nutrasweet)and it had virtually no bitter aftertaste, IMO.
So, that's the scoop...so to speak...better taste, sweeter taste, zero-to scant aftertaste.

jhertel,
Stevia comes in liquid and powder form. The powdered form is more versatile, IMO, and I also prefer SteviaPlus by wisdom herbs. You can buy stevia at health food stores or order it online at www.wisdomherbs.com

If you have a Trader Joe near you, they sell the powdered Stevia down the baking goods aisle. Their prices are very reasonable too...Good luck!
