It makes it creamier and less dense than one made exclusively with cream cheese (and eggs and sweetener of course!)

The ones without the sour cream are a bit drier. My DH LOVES that kind. I'm more a fan of the creamier types myself! But we BOTH like the sour cream-topped cakes......

Cognoman,

That's usually for the topping, that you put on in the last minutes of cooking.

You and me both, Char. I like my mock danish the way you do it, too. Cook & stir, then once more - a little soft in the middle!

Yep, Mag, once again, we prove that we are identical twins of different mothers! LOL!

And a lot of the recipes I've read DO have sour cream IN the cheesecake as well as on top - I like it best that way. So let's make one tonight, huh? C'mon over!

LOL, Char.

If I weren't so far away and so dang tired at the moment, I'd hop in my road rocket and stop by!

Someday we'll have a LCE convention. Then we can join forces and 'speriment together.

Oh, dear - I will make sure my kitchen insurance is paid up. Maybe life insurance kicked up a notch too!

Wouldn't that be a BLAST though!! Man I'd love it!

Dreamin' of the 'sperimental kitchen where Maggie and Char wave their magic spatulas........

Boy, you're right there! LOL! Judging from Rob's Kitchen Disaster thread, we could do a serious job in a kitchen if operating at the same time! (Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory comes to mind. )

Maggie that is so funny - on "my" carb board (Carb Corner on ezboards) one of my cohorts and I are known affectionately (I think!) as "Lucy and Ethel" - I'm Ethel!

I'm sure we could do justice to ANY kitchen, provided it has a hose-down floor..........

That's no joke, Marcie! I was once in a private home (very expensive one natch) and the lady of the house had the kitchen floor designed in tile with a drain in the center and instant hot water spigots at floor level! What a way to wash the floors - I could like that....

Now if only the walls and ceiling would self-wash too...hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

You're all too much! Now if you had said automatic hose down walls.......
I like John Deneirre cheesecake straight from the factory in Sante Fe Springs, Ca., now if we could only get them to do a low carb version

Hey, it COULD happen, Kim - I mean, we've got low-carb Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, low carb Ruby Tuesday and TGIF, low-carb Tostitos and Doritos being released - I think CHEESECAKE is a natural progression!!
