| This recipe looks so yummy! I want to make it, but it looks hard. I have a few questions: What is sucralose? What is xanthan? What is steviaplus? As you can tell I do not know much about low carb cooking, but I love to bake. I also have a problem finding a lot of the "unusual" ingredients where I live. How great it is to have you here to ask these questions. My husband is going to Barnes and Noble today to get me your book. I can't wait! ![]() Good luck all!! | neato sucralose = Splenda xanthan gum = a thickener. Bob's red mill sells it. I think the url is www.bobsredmill.com but don't quote me SteviaPlus = a sweetener. Here's a link Wisdom Herbs but kystar had posted about a free sample somewhere on the boards the other day, so you might want to give that a shot first. Really, this recipe isn't hard. There are basically 3 steps: 1. Make the crust. 2. Make the filling and bake the thing. 3. Make the sauce. None of the steps are difficult. The only biggie is to be certain everything is at room temperature. You'll do just fine Blessings! | Thanks for the website of Bob's Red Mill. I, too, have wondered where some of the ingredients for the recipes can be found. Maybe a section with websites would be helpful to us Newbies. Just a thought... Elizabeth |

| guar gum can be subbed equally for xanthan. I don't shop online, so I won't be of much help... Sorry. Blessings! | LOL Jan! I was just going to ask Sharron that! I used the gaur gum last night for the first time to make a cheese sauce for my broccoli. It works great as a thickener! I will make this cheesecake soon. I think I have all the ingredients now. Jen Atkins since 11/11/03 5'3" 140/128/115 I used to be indecisive...But now I'm not so sure! |
