Boy, this is going to get a lot of replies, Michele! My first suggestion is to check out the recipe section for "breakfast cereal" here on LCE.
Breakfast Cereal Section

Sprinkle it on your salads or cooked veggies, add it to any low-carb baked goodies you may make, stir it into your yogurt or kefir if you eat either of those.

Flax is a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids which we need, and also for fiber.

I use flax in so many things, I couldn't even begin to remember them all! LOL!

One of my faves is a breading mix I make using 2 parts crushed pork rinds, 1 part each flax meal and almond meal, and 1/2 part wheat gluten flour. It's great for breading chicken, fish, veggies, whatever.

I also add it to my berries - like blueberries, I buy the frozen Trader Joe's wild blueberries - take a serving out and put them into a microwave safe bowl, nuke a minute, add a little sweetener of your choice and a tablespoon or so of flax - stir well and nuke another minute. Add a splash of heavy cream and it's HEAVENLY!

Great! Thanks for the input...I'll have to get almond flour, wheat gluten flour and soy protein...I see those ingredients are used in quite a few recipes! Thanks alot!

Great ideas! All of which I've been happy to borrow.

I also use it in my breakfast cereal.

It's also great added to smoothie. Into a blender, put some kefir (or lc soy milk or carb countdown milk, but kefir is best) a few sliced strawberries, a packet of splenda (or sweetener of your choice), some flax meal and an ice cube. Blend it up well. Very thick and yummy!

(Connie,

Just edited your post to shorten the link to the Breakfast Cereal Section. )

This is how to make it short:

Copy the link you'd like to include in your post. Then, when you're posting your message or reply, and you get to the point where you want the link to be, use the button at the top which says "URL." A two window box will drop down. In the first, you past the link. In the second, you fill in whatever words you want to represent it. For instance I used "Breakfast Cereal Section", but it might be just the word "here" - whatever fits into what you're saying.

Avoids the dreaded "thread spread"

Thanks for the reminder about the flax muffins, Lori. I just hauled back flax from the HFS in Singapore so I have enough now to make these.

I put a couple of Tbs. in my cream cheese pancakes this morning.

Also, I know Barb puts it in her Mock Danish... it's great like that!

I made the Mock Danish this weekend for my kids with the flax seed -- they loved it.
