| I am trying to make deli style roast beef. I am trying to stay away from the preserviatives and keep a lower carb count then the deli kind. I have tried a few times to get it just like the deli Moist and tasty. I am having NO luck. Does anyone try to make their own? Any suggestions? | Hi Carol! The best luck I've had is with an eye of the round roast, which I rotisseried. Then I refrigerated it til ice cold. THEN I used my little electric slicer to slice it ultra-thin. Now THAT was some good roast beef! I seasoned the outside of the roast with garlic salt and freshly ground pepper and rotisseried to medium rare. Gee, thanks for bringing up the subject, I need to do that again real soon1 Char Don't squat with yer spurs on! |

| Ditto what Charski says about eye of round. I've prepared that roast many times, it's never failed me. I, too, use fresh meat instead of deli meats due to the high sodium in processed meats. I need to make one Charski! Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02 |

| Charski that sounds DELISH!!! but I dont have a rotisseri. Just thinking of rotisseri brought back memories of my childhood with grandpa doing a roast or pork on the grill rotisseri Sharron I emailed you regarding the recipe. We have a very old cheap slicer but I saw a real nice one in the Sunday adds at this place called Kitchen Ect....Now that would be so nice to have. | Carol, when your budget allows, get yourself a Showtime Rotisserie (Ron Popeil) or something similar! I adore mine. It makes the BEST chicken, Prime Rib, roast pork, whatever - and you can get them for about $70 in the "dial" model (rather than the digital) - or maybe you could ask Santa for one!! They are worth their weight in gold IMHO!! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on! |

| Which size do you recommend, Char? I've been considering one of these for a while, but the counter space...hmmmm.... Also, boneless pork loin is great prepared in the same way and sliced thin. Yum! Fill me in. Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02 |

| Try Cornish Game Hens in the Rotisseri, or Tri-tip. Season well with whatever spices you like best, but make sure you let it rotate on no heat for about 10 mins. when done - seals in the juices. It's great! I also have a Showtime (large), and keep it in the garage when not in use. I have heard the George Foreman is difficult to clean, but everyone I know loves their Showtime. Enjoy! Remember I Cor. 13 - charity never faileth. |

| I have the "regular" size one - you can do about a 12 pound turkey in it, if you tie it up good - have also done 2 chickens or a large roaster chicken in it. The prime rib we did was a 3 rib roast and it COULD have done a 4 rib without a problem. I've had this one 4-5 years now - when it finally dies, I'm going to get the BIG one that does a 15 pound turkey! My kitchen is TINY so when I'm not using the rotisserie it goes into a closet in the spare room. A tip - if you have a self-cleaning oven, you can put the backsplash and the pan in the oven and set it on clean cycle to get off all the burnt-on stuff that's hard to clean - I also do that with my cast iron pans - 'course you gotta re-season them afterwards, but boy it works SLICK to get off the stuff!! AND you get a clean oven too!! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on! |

| I have the professional (big) one that I just got from my awesome husband as an early Christmas present. I did my Thanksgiving turkey in it and it was the juiciest turkey ever. My husband considers it an investment in cooking. I've also done chickens, roasts, burgers, and all have been delish. I do alot of the meat on Sunday so I have it on hand during the week when I don't have time to cook. I think it's worth the money. I keep mine in the garage too when I am not using it. | Ok, so I'm bored at work and dont have much else to do but surf the net looking for rotisseries. http://www.popeilfamilystore.com/rotisseries.html I think I will buy one this week. I asked my sister if she had one and she said she had the 4000 model and just loves it. |
