Ok, I have looked, and I apologize if this has been covered, but...
I want to make some taco meat for taco salad, but the little McCormick's package is loaded with carbs! How do you season ground beef to make taco meat? And be as specific as you can, I have NO culinary talent.
thanks!

I use chili powder, garlic powder, ground cumin and if you wish, a dash of red pepper and onion powder.

Use these spices to taste, according to the portion of ground beef. You can't ruin it, unless you get WAY too much. So just start with a teaspoon of each and go from there.

I might mention that most of the carbs in a package mix like that come from thickening agents and a sweetener of some sort.

Good luck!

Ditto what Susan said.

Also, a quick way to add some flavor for taco meat is salsa. Just make sure you strain it first or you'll have rivers of water in your meat!

Freshly chopped cilantro is another great thing for tacos.
