Between 3 and 5 net carbs, depending on what size egg you use and whether you use regular splenda (higher) or liquid splenda or some kind of sugar free syrup (lower.)

I like to add a TBS or two of cocoa powder to mine sometimes too, which will add another 1 net carb per TBS. I then add a splash of chocolate s/f syrup and another packet of splenda..........I think the carbs are about 8 when you do that. It tastes like chocolate cake, especially if you add a TBS of flaxmeal and a 1/2 tsp (no carbs) of baking powder. Make sure you cook it in a deep enough bowl to not boil over in the microwave. After induction you can add a few frozen (thawed out) strawberries on top and a splash of cream or half and half. I do ALL sorts of stuff with the basic mock danish recipe. If you add Atkins Bake Mix, a TSP. of baking powder, some cinnamon or whatever, it makes a good pancake batter too!!!!! I just experiment and concoct all sorts of stuff.

I usually make mine with cinnamon and flax meal, but ran out of cinnamon so I substituted nutmeg instead. I now have a new mock danish favorite.

TD, You should read South Beach Diet book in order to get some other ideas and to know exactly what to do to succeed and keep going. This way of eating (WOE) should NOT be referred to as a "diet" since that implies a temporary mindset. This is something you are going to have to do the rest of your life if you want to maintain your weight loss.

I ordered 2 canisters of Atkins Bake Mix from www.atkins.com, which arrived in a wonderfully short period of time. (less than a week) I use this as a base for pancakes. I also use the Mock Danish recipe as a base for my pancakes. Here's what I do:

I mix 1 egg with 3 oz. of cream cheese until it's smooth. To that I add about a quarter cup of Atkins bake mix, 1 tsp. of baking powder, a pinch of salt, a tsp alcohol based vanilla and a couple packets of splenda. Mix it all up until completely mixed. Cook as you normally would, regular pancakes.

I have a syrup recipe in the "Cook" section up at the top of the page under the heading of "Breakfast" (I think). I will post a link directly to the recipe. Faux Mrs. Butterworth's

Oh and here's a link to Atkins Baking Supplies So far, I like all of Atkins baking stuff.

Here's a link to Davinci Pancake Syrup I would probably do my Mrs. Butterworth's treatment to this syrup too. It is sweetened with splenda.

OK, I just tried the mock danish for the first time. YUM!!! What a treat it was! A whole one was too much for me; half did just fine. Wow...it was great. I had sf Da Vinci cookie dough syrup on it. I'll have this again soon!

Michelle, I used to LIVE on these!!! I haven't had one for awhile, I'll have to have one tonight for dessert maybe. Or maybe I'll add Atkins Bake mix to it and make CAKE!!!! I use the basic mock danish recipe as a base for other recipes. Like pancakes too!!!!

Kind of off topic, kind of not - saw the pancake discussion - I have used the Atkins Bake mix in the past and used the pancake recipe on the back. However, instead of using soy milk, I used club soda (a trick I learned from Non LC days). The club soda makes the pancakes lighter, and reduces the carb count to hardly anything. Don't know if the recipe is still there or not, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Mock Danish - yum! One of my favorite things! There, keeps us on topic

LOL Kim. Yep, never hurts to read the labels.

Eddie, in my book, pancakes are still on topic, especially since I use the mock danish recipe as a base. I add a couple TBS. of bake mix to the MD base, add a bit of splenda, some vanilla, a dash of cinnamon, and sometimes almond flour, oh and baking powder. (makes 'em fluffy too)

I love mock danishes! I've been alternating between a couple basic versions -- one with a tablespoon of caramel DaVinci's syrup and cinnamon, one with a tablespoon of vanilla and cherry DaVinci's syrup mixed with a tiny dash of lemon juice (mmm-cherry cheesecake), and one with a teaspoon of natural peanut butter, a teaspoon of cocoa, and a tablespoon of chocolate DaVinci's syrup. Yum! The chocolate peanut butter version is for special occasions.

I should also point out that although I think larger amounts of cream cheese = yummier mock danish, I do tend to only use 1 oz in mine. It allows me to trim a little bit of the carb count ...
