    Talking Dana Carpender's 500 Low-carb Recipes

I just received the book. Recipes look great but has anyone reduced the amounts? Anyone baked the breads in the oven?

I also love the 250 Recipe book by Sharron Long. I live alone.

Atkins and low carb since April 2003. 132 lbs...started at 165.

Fran, that's the first low-carb cookbook I bought - there are lots of great recipes in there!

It's only DH and myself around here, but I still usually make the entire recipe - we live for leftovers during the week!

Many of those things also freeze well, so you can portion them out and freeze for eating sometime when you don't FEEL like cooking or something unexpected comes up!

We love her Heroin Chicken Wings...gobble them up! Great as leftovers too. I use drumbsticks instead of wings though.

This is one of my favorites... right up there with Sharron's

It's just DH and me here most of the time. I prepare the full recipes and we have lunches for the next day, or even dinner the next night. Leftovers are a nice treat that mean we can do something besides plan our evenings around preparing and cleaning up after a cookfest. If there's not enough for a full meal with the leftovers, I've made some very inventive scrambles and frittatas with a dab of this and a little of that.
