| It depends on where you are at health-wise. I don't have a problem drinking it freely. Technically you are supposed to do like 4 oz upon rising and 4 oz at bedtime. I just fit it in at least 2 hrs away from when I've done kefir. Sharron for you, I would imagine you should do small amounts to work your body up to being able to handle larger amounts. But if you are handling 4 oz. at a time, then no worries.

| at bedtime?? I'm taking about 6 ounces upon rising and again in the afternoon. How do I know if I'm "handling" it? There have been a couple of times I've taken extra cuz' I needed a boost... |

| I would think if you are having a bad reaction, you'd feel icky, maybe some gas, even a rash, headachy, maybe even flu-ish feeling. I know when one is having a candida cleanse reaction, a rash is a biggy. But if you aren't having any adverse reactions, then go for it. What I had read in the past, you're supposed to take it on an empty stomach, thus the dose upon rising and just before bed, about 3-4 hours after the last meal of the day. I think the empty stomach thing is so it doesn't conflict with any foods and so it has a maximum effect on your intestinal tract. I do it in the morning if I haven't consumed any kefir yet. If I've had kefir, I wait a couple of hours before having the tea. And THAT varies as to whether I am working that day or not. I HAVE to eat before I go to work, 'cuz I can't eat at work. So when I am working I will do the kefir instead with my breakfast. It's a juggling act. I don't adhere strictly to the rules, and will have the tea with the syrup just as a tasty beverage. It beats drinking pop, ya know? And if it's giving you a boost, no matter when you drink it..................that's GREAT!!!!!!!!

| I ask because I've been feeling rotten, generally, but I feel like the Ktea is what is keeping me going... Since it is giving me a boost, I'll look to that as my guideline. Thanks |

| Maybe you are cleansing, but then again, it could be stress too!!!!

| Yea, I'm inclined to think it is the stress and the Ktea is helping. I did muscle test myself to be sure and I was good with the Ktea. Between that and the coQ10 I don't know if I'd be functioning the way this last month has been |

| I didn't realize I was supposed to take it away from meals. I changed things up a bit this morning. I took my Ktea before I worked out, then took my coQ10 with my eggs about 30-45 minutes later. We'll see if that helps any. |

| Sounds like a plan Sharron!!!! The research I did on K-tea years ago always said to have it on an empty stomach, but I don't think it will hurt you if you drink it with food either. I try to have it in the AM, when I'm not rushed to get off to work, on an empty stomach. Otherwise, I drink it as a nice refreshing beverage instead of pop. It can't hoit!!!!

| You know, I'm sure that this drink is nice and tasty and that there are all sorts of possible health benefits associated with kombucha, but I see that some of you are drinking as much as 12-16 ounces in a day. Sixteen ounces, according to the best nutritional analysis I could find ( http://w3.trib.com/~kombu/FAQ/part06.html ) is 32 gms of carbs (that's practically my total carb allowance most days) all of which is sugar. Even if you ferment it until it turns to vinegar, per the usda, 16 ounces of vinegar is 29 gms of carbs. (Posted as a public service message for the consideration of any one of you who might be stalling or gaining. )

| Maggie, that's a good point. I think I'm doing only about 4 oz. per day. I always wonder how much of the sugar gets eaten up by the microbials. Thanks for the heads up.

| Thanks, Mags. The only thing I can say is that I don't get any kind of sugar buzz and I stay in ketosis with it. Yes, I'm bloating, but it isn't as severe as it has been. I'm not gaining 2, 3 and 4 pounds at a time, only .5 pound when I do. I wish I could check my blood as you do, but I don't have the equiptment. All I can say is how I am feeling. Wish I had a better gauge, but I don't... |
