| Hi, Are these allowed? I didn't see them on the list under foods to enjoy or to avoid. Thanks. Angela

| OOPS! Didn't notice till after I responded that this was in the South Beach forum...I'm not familiar with that plan at all - sorry! _______________________________________________ I don't see them on the "acceptable for induction" list Escondite, and I imagine that's because olives are a fruit. But the Atkins website does show some induction-friendly recipes that use black olives, so go figure. Dr. Atkins was adamant that we should eat ONLY what's on the induction list at first, and not one bite of anything else, so even if olives were an oversight, I'd avoid them for the first two weeks. At about 1 carb per 5 olives and full of favorable oils, I do think they are a good food for ongoing weight loss and beyond. I am in maintenance, and I eat all kinds of olives pretty regularly.
