| Howdy South Beachers! I am new to LCE but not New to Forum type dieting. I successfully did Ediets.com three years ago and then got pregnant with #4 and gained it back. With a husband in the military and a move to a foreign country, I have been a little stressed and inspite of my best efforts, I have not been successful in taking off the ...weight again with ediets. Since moving to Okinawa, Japan, a more active lifestyle and Japanese cusine has helped me to loose 10 pounds. I tried ediets again, however, food is a lot more expensive and after spending 2x as much for the weekly menus, I knew I had to do something different. I finally turned to Atkins this Spring to hopefully jump start my metabolism. I lost 10 pounds, but after more stress and a few birthdays, I regained 5. I am bought the SB Diet book and am having a hard time going back through the Phase 1 eating. I decided to just do it for one week, which started on Sunday. I am feeling a lot better. I am looking for some support. I would like to get 4 other dieter to join me on an accountability chat. We would start out by each setting our own goals and then maybe branching out with some friendly competitions. I started a thread like this with Ediets.com over three years ago and last time I looked, it was still going all total there was over 500 pounds lost by members of the group. If you are interested, please post or send me a message. I will take the first 4 people regardless of where you are in your dieting. I only ask that you be ready to be a "looser" and you are willing to post daily. I look forward to getting started! Holly

| I am interested because I am having a heck of a time staying on track lately. I assume by accountability chat you mean posting daily not an actual chat daily? Let me know what the rules would be and hopefully I can join in!

| Lisa! I am just looking for a once a day post telling us what you are doing/did. I also hope that you would read the others post and give opinions, encouragement or a swift kick in the pants as needed. I am a busy mother of 4 so I can not sit and read a ton of posts, hence the limitation on numbers, but I need some help being accountable. Hope that you will join me! Holly

| Howdy Lisa and everyone else who may read this!!! August 3 I had a good day. I ate on plan, until about 7:00 p.m. when I cut into some bar cookies that I had made for a Boy Scout Troop who were here for a merit badge session. I then proceeded to eat 3 of them. Kicking myself HARD!!!!! I drank 3+ liters of water. August 4 I was down 2 pounds this morning when I weighed in. I also spent 20 minutes in the swimming pool. It was a great way to enjoy the sunrise. I was thinking about when I was a travel agent and would get up early at the exotic locations I would visit and go swimming. It was such a treat, and here I am on a tropical island and I can go swim everyday. Here is my menu for today. I will just update this entry and not repost for the day. B-Mushroom and onion omelette with cheese. Water: 1.5 liter Hope that you have a successful day and that you are a complete "looser" because I know that I am!! Holly

| Hi Holly & Lisa - I'll join your little group. I've been on Atkins since January - slow losing, but losing as a trend, so that is cool. But I've found myself doing things I shouldn't - so accountability may be helpful. first off - Bad Holly on the BS cookie bars. But, you get right back to it and that is good. I had 2 (count em - 2) Atkins morning start bars today. bad girl. I picked up the 2 new flavors Sunday - creamy strawberry and blueberry muffin. too good. I gotta stay away from them. and the last ice cream bar this morning. about as bad as it gets while still sticking to low carb, huh? but also did Curves workout this morning, and 1 hr of water aerobics tonight. but I did have 2 large salads today. so, bad me today. I need a place to be accountable so you can yell at me too. see you tomorrow.

| If there is still room, count me in. I am currently at 255 looking way ahead to about 135. I started at 268 and would really like this type of group to account to. by the way my name is Debbie, I am 44 and live in Prescott Valley, AZ with my 2 furry 4 legged kids named rooster and Nikki and my wonderful husband. |

| Count me in if there is still room. I really need the accountability. Unfortunately, we are leaving on vacation on Friday and I won't be near a computer then. Will you still have me for now and when I get back next week? My background is this. SHM to 2 kids (ages 6 and 3). Lost 40 pounds on Atkins about 2 1/2 years ago. Have kept it off until now when I am, starting to creep back up. Have regained 7 lbs in the last couple of months. Really went off the wagon and having a heck of a time getting back on. Am currently at 189 and would like to get down around 165 for a final goal. Janine |

| Yesterday ended up being pretty bad. Over on just about everything, even if it was LC treats. But I also had 2 workouts, so hopefully it evens out. It was the end of TOM this time too - lots of excuses , huh? today is going better. had cott.cheese/strawberries, cucumbers snack, grilled cheese sandwich (yes, lc bread & yummy) - I'm in OWL or Phase II - had an atkins shake for midafternoon, and planning on a chef salad for dinner.

| Howdy! I am sorry to have missed a posting day. I had a great excuse (computer is in the shop and my neighbor's daughter, with a heart condition, had a seizure and I am taking care of her two boys plus my four boys.) but that still leaves y'all high and dry, SORRY. I had a really bad day, starting off, yesterday. August 5 Menu: B-Whole grain/no-sugar bran muffin and a protein shake S-1/2 slice of a quick bread of some type (not banana though!) L-Veggie Omelette S-nuts and cheese D-Taco Salad - 100% ON!!!!! I also only drank 1.5 liters of water and did not get to the gym. August 6 B-Veggie Omelette and 1 bite of a donut hole Water: 0 so far Gym: Nothing! So Far! O.K. How about some accountability. First things first. Here is challenge #1. For the rest of the week...new weeks will start on Monday...whereever you may live (That works well because my Monday starts before y'alls so I have a little extra time to get a new thread up and going!!!) Drink enough WATER!!!!! One of the most important things to do for weight -loss (and life) is drink enough water. Water helps to flush out impurities (and too much protein in your blood), it helps you feel full, helps with constipation, and gives your skin a healthy look. Here is the math! (Weight (in pounds) X 0.04) X 2 = # of cups needed daily. NOW! That is from Every Source, not just plain water, but...for our purposes we should be shooting for drinking no less than 64 oz./day! Example! At 153 I need 12 cups (96 oz) of water per day. My goal between now and Monday is to drink 64-96 oz per day! Here is challenge #2 Choose one goal. Let us know what that goal is. It can be anything diet/exercise related. What is that one thing that is really killing your diet. I think that mine is the "one bite wonder". I am constantly taking just one bite of forbidden foods. I justify it in that I "need" to live and do not want to give everything up forever. I have found that most of the time it is not worth the ONE bite, or if it is, I can not stop at one bite. We will continue on this thread until Sunday, but we need to come up with a fun name for our group. The last one I started was New Year/New Me (NYNM) but this is not a new year...any ideas? "Beach Babes in the making" - from South "BEACH" "Lovely 'Loosersl" - LC or any other L word Lisa - How are you doing? Mary Kay - Shame on you for the overeating. Maybe your goal could be no LC treats, or at least only 1! How has your next day gone? Great job on the exercise and salads. Cottage cheese and strawberries sounds delicious! Strawberries are $4.50 per quart here and they are in really bad shape by the time they get to us. But the Japanese ones are the sweetest berries I have ever tasted, even if they are white and look bad. Debbie - Welcome to the group. 13 pounds gone forever!!! Janine - We will take you while we can and hope to hear from you when you can get to us while you are on your trip...a little extra accountability. Then full steam ahead!

| Hello team - Had a good day yesterday. and seem to have gotten past my stall.I'm at 192 this morning!!! I've become something I never thought I would be - an active person. Yesterday I was down south installing some software, but still managed to get to Curves and water aerobics. Ive got an appt this morning at Ballys - I'm a member but haven't been there on the machines for over a year. Time, asthma problems, lack of drive - but I've decided Curves is great, but it is now more of an aerobic exercise for me - I don't get the muscle burn I need anymore no matter how hard I work the machines. So, time to get back to Ballys on the weight machines. I feel good about this. LC has made my asthma almost go away! ended up at a chinese buffet yesterday for lunch,but loaded up my plate with crab dish, broc/chicken, green beans. yeah, some may have had some sweet sauces, but I don't obsess about that anymore. I needed to get my carbs up because I am doing more activity now. And it seems to be working. I'm pretty good with my water - usually around 90-100 oz per day. My goal is to be going back to Ballys at least 2x week (for starter).

| Good morning, everybody. Well, a quick note and then off to pack for the Dells. I'm so-so on yesterday. Had an egg and cheese for breakfast, salads for lunch and dinner. can't remember the snacks, but my problem is always (1) late night munchies and (2) emotional eating. I get frustrated when DH isn't around and the kids are getting on my nerves. I thought I was doing OK, but then got major carb cravings (and not the good stuff, if you know what I mean) after I snagged a bite of DS's peanut butter. So, realization is that I need to be more careful. On the good side though, I made it to the gym on Monday and Tuesday and did a 40 min ball workout at home yesterday. I hope that we'll get a lot of walking in on vacation and I want to get through finishing the remainder of the South Beach book. I have Atkins in my head from when I did it before and will have to refresh on all the guidelines. Then for the water... it'll be good for both me and the kids to stress that. Too much diet soda (for me) and fruit juice (for them) going around this house. So there's my goals for the weekend: the water, walking and getting back to basics on the diet. |

| Went to Ballys this morning to meet with a new personal trainer - I still have 6 sessions I bought back last year and didn't use. I am meeting her M-W-F next week at 7am and we are getting this thing going. I'm very excited. The PT I had before was a guy, and we really didn't communicate all that well. I really like the new one, and think this will be cool. Not going to keep up with a PT for long ($$$), but can get into the swing of it and work on my own once I do.

| Do you still have room for me? I sure could use a hand and having gone thru what everyone else has, we sound like a good group. "Lettuce lose together" There is strength is numbers and we all, need some encouragement. Let me know. If anyone wants to write me with advice please feel free. I am Donna a 45 yo mom of two still at home, and two on their own. I stopped smoking almost two years ago and the tobacco producers sent me forty pounds!!!!!! (My punishment for not supporting them)

| I've been so bad at posting. but this week was M - Ballys circuit T - water aerobics W - Ballys lower body workout F - Ballys upper body workout S - water aerobics I'm getting way more exericize than I ever have in my life and loving it. Haven't been good with my water - been eating too few carbs for the lifestyle I am now living and have to increase the numbers - I'm stalled and I think it is because I am doing so much working out and still around 25-30 carbs. Gotta get it up - just so afraid to.
