Hey, everybody! Just thought I'd drop in and let you know what's going on with me. I'm beginning to think that ACV is not for me. :( I was hoping it was going to be "the thing", but I don't think that's the case. The ACV has just made me TOO hungry... can't ever get that full feeling. So, today I didn't take it, and I got full! :jump: I'll continue on in not taking it and see how things go. Perhaps just cutting back to 2 mugs of coffee a day is enough to keep my stomach problems at bay. And, maybe there's something else out there to give me more energy... who knows?

The important thing is that I've started to learn how to "listen" to my body. And that's a good thing!

Thanks for all of your help everyone!

I'm glad you are feeling better, whether or not acv helped

Listening to your body is a very good thing :great:

I've been forgetting my acv. I hope I'll do better today!

Debby,

That's great news about solving the "TOO hungry." I believe you are on your way to learning more about listening to your body. I did the same thing when I decided that my body was telling me to eat more carbs. Now I feel more balanced.
Keep up the good work.

Well, I haven't had my ACV in 3 days because I ran out, but I just got back from the HFS and bought more. I'm ready to get started again. I know I posted this question earlier, but has anyone else noticed an increase of sweating during exercise while taking the ACV? I'm just wondering because I actually feel like I'm melting or look like I'm melting. LOL

Craz, any chance your having too much acv??

I just remeasured and marked my shot glass to avoid this problem. I thought I was getting 2 tsps - more like a tablespoon plus!

I did some super cleaning around here last weekend and I noticed I was smelling like a pickle.
Sharron, thanks again for the *urp* warning - it was the sign I needed.

April Rose, that may be the problem, but I guess it doesn't bother me too much as long as I DON'T smell like pickles and vinegar. LOL

April Rose, I just wanted to stick in here what I mentioned in another post:

I've discovered quite by accident that ACV has the effect of bringing down a blood sugar high when one unintentionally ingests that foul substance, or simply too many simple carbs at one sitting!

I've tried different dosages, but for me, 1 tablespoon taken after the offending meal (I've always done it within the hour because that is when I'm always feeling it intensly!) with a bit of water has helped me all the time!!!

I wouldn't use it as a licence to eat bad stuff, but it does help when one gets themselves into a predicament as one is often want to do when one goes out to eat

That's interesting. How far up was your blood sugar and how far down did the ACV bring it?

Mags, I have no way to "measure" it other than by how I feel. I do know, however, that Summer (Lawbooks) has measured it and the effect was quite significant.

What I know was that Friday after dinner out to eat I was zinging in a major way and was having a majorly queasy stomach (that is what happens to me when it is bad.) I'd eaten something that I expected to be mostly meat, and it was mostly sauce. Blech. Within a few minutes I was feeling the rush of sugar... Apparently, about 30 minutes or so later, I was the wrong color and a lady friend of mine at church (kids band concert that night) asked if I was ok. I lamented that I'd wished I had some ACV. She said she had some and took me to her house and let me take a tablespoon of her Braggs. Within about 3 minutes I was feeling better.

Wish I actually had the testing equiptment, then I could give you numbers.... Summer might remember hers though...?

Lightbulb Re: more acv questions

Hi all,

I'm kinda "new" here, at least to these new forums, haven't visited in around a year. Lost 30 lbs., was at my goal and felt great. I've eased up in weight 5 lbs. in the past 3 months, due to, I'm sure to some incredible stress I'm under right now. So, I'm back for some inspiration to get these 5 off, before I balloon up to more!

Anyway, I've been reading these posts about the ACV, and had some thoughts about it. I hope I'm right, and will give you the story.

Began LCE in Feb. last year, and did well. During that time starting reading about the ACV online somewhere, and decidided to give it a shot, mostly for the digestive, & weight loss thing. I stayed on it about 6 weeks; got lax and stopped it.

Well, right after that time, I started feeling incredible energy, no more aches and pains, and just all around well being. At that time I didn't acutally attribute it to anything in particular, but believe me, I was overjoyed and reveled in it. I have autoimmune condition, and thought I would never feel well again. Could have been having nearly no sugar in those months.

My LCE eased up again, I found by eating very little bread, pasta, rice products, my weight stayed stable. Imagine the delight when I found dairy was no problem. And, my joy when I found I could eat ice cream with no weight gain. Not good for my body sure, but I didn't dwell on that, since ice cream was my fav dessert! I was in heaven.

Now, I back to a general awful, achy feeling. Too much ice cream, I guess.:(.

Long story short, now I wonder if the ACV had actually rejuvenated my system somehow, and accounted for that well being. Needless to say, I'm giving it a try again, and see if I can replicate it!!!

This will be an interesting experiment. Maybe a long shot, but will let you guys know how it goes, if interested.

ok, i am game, going to health food store after work and buy some of this ACV and see if it will help....I have been losing and gaining the same five lbs all summer and am tired of that, need to re=induct for a week or so, and try something different. This last year, the only supplements I took were multi vitamins, an energy vitamin (extra b's) a memory/focus vitamin, and a menapause support (soy and black cohash) vitamin. and Extra potassium for leg cramps.
I am not a supplement taker, so it will definately be a challenge. Any other supplements anyone can suggest... I don't necessarily have a problem with snacking - I am good about eating my breakfast, then lunch, then dinner and that is usually it.... Occassionally I will have a piece of fruit between meals, and sometimes at night will have a piece of ham, or cheese... but usually nothing... it is those "Oh I can have some of that, some of this, etc...., will do great for a few days, then blow one meal, then get back on it.... so, I need something that will help keep me on track....

Let us know how it goes!

And since you asked about other supplements, this would be my suggestion: http://www.lowcarbeating.com/bb/showthread.php?t=11037
