Just felt like crap yesterday. Not sure if it is a stress induced breakdown with all the nonsense about the house, etc, or just came down with a bug or something. Have had a stomach ache since Monday night. Big time achyness yesterday. I just wanted to sleep. A bit better today. Did make it to the gym. We'll see how it goes.
I'll post today's stats later.
I only tried one of the slow cooker recipes, since I'm not really feeling up to eating anything I'm not going to bother for today. The kids won't eat anything in caserole form anyway. maybe tomorrow.
Do you want me to email you a couple that look good or post them somewhere?

Howdy!

Sorry that you are not feeling 100%. I am also beginning to fight something. I know that mine is stress related because I have been going 110%.

I have not done as well with my last few days, but not bad either.

I have not been able to get out of bed to the gym in the morning. So I have not been able weigh myself "officially". However, judging from my personal scales I should be down under 150. That means I have lost the two pounds I put on at the end of last week with all of the bad eating.

I have had a lot of comments the past few days about how I look. I am thrilled, but have to stick to it until I reach 140! Yeah!!!

I am going to bed (9:00 p.m. for me) and getting to the gym, so I should have an official weight loss tomorrow!

Janine! I am sorry that you are feeling bad...hope that you shake it!

Blue! Thanks for checking in, on an old thread...I hope that you have a great time with your son's graduation!

Well, guys, heres for Wed. Hopefully today will be a better day. I've actually been sleeping the last couple of days. had lots of trouble before that. Maybe that was the cause of all my trouble.
Thanks for the good wishes.
Did drag myself to the gym yesterday and will try again today.
Onward and downward, as they say. today is another day.

I spent the day potty training my 2 yo..hence my personal point. But I skipped lunch to finish it and ate too many of the boy's treats. My 9 year old said that he has to run a mile for the Presidential fitness program at school. He wants to start "training" with me. We are going to go running together. He is a little chunky but I have tried to not say anything but encourage his healthy choices. He also has to do pull ups and sit ups. Those are up to dad to get him ready for.

Going to bed before I pass out!

Weight loss - 8 lbs!

I am so excited that I have done this well and lost this much weight! I am now 148! Only 8 lbs from my goal. I have two weeks before I go home and I really want to be in my goal clothes. I should be able to do that if I stay on track!

Janine! I would love the slow cooker recipes. I do not know if there is a ban on posting them here, but I think that that would be the easiest! Thanks!!!!

Have a great day!

Ah, well. Today is another day.

Holly, I'll try to post a couple recipes later in the week when I can.
The book has all kinds from chicken to beef to pork to desserts. Anything you'd have interest in?

*I did not get to weigh at the gym for an "Official" count.

We are right in the middle of a Catagory 4 Typhoon (same as a hurricane, different name) here in Japan. We have been locked down in our homes for the last 28 hours, but has been indoors longer than that. We should be locked down most of today. Typhoons are completely different here than in the states. The whole island is built in cement. From Homes to park benches. Then everyone ties down, or takes in everything. So the only real damage comes from trees and bushes. There are 1.3 million people here on the island and so there is really no where to go, we just hunker down.

I did comfortally wear my size 8 pants, but there are still just snug enough that I decided that I did not want to rip them.

I am at a cross-roads with my dieting. I can either move on the Phase 2 and hope to loose a pound or two more a week before I go home and hope that that is enough, or I can stay with Phase I and hope to get down to my goal. I would believe that I only have about 6 pounds to go.

I think that I will stick with Phase I...when I put it that way, it is too tempting to just finish the job quickly instead of stretch it out.

Janine! I am sorry that you are stressed...what is going on? What are you cheating on? Maybe you need to plan to cheat...pick things like semi-sweet chocolate covered strawberries, a legal desset, or some legal bread, and then you can feel that you are cheating without doing major damage! I love a chicken recipe and a dessert. If I like them, I will get the name of the book so that I can get it when I come home.

Thanks!

Holly

Well, back to the grind for another week.
I'm just generally burnt out. Did make it to the gym yesterday, but went on a major binge all weekend with parties, etc.
I'm a worrier by nature, which doesn't help things, as well as an emotional eater. Bad combination. No major tragedies over here, but the little things seem to add up.
I am very concerned about our house. We have been trying to have a house built for months. It's kind of one thing after another with that. First, when they went to dig the foundation, they found a Com Ed line was running across the property (unmarked, shouldn't have been there) and it took 2 months to get the line moved. Now, the house is under construction and we still don't have an solid contract on it. We aren't going to list our house yet, until we do, but I'm still stressed about all the cleaning, etc. I'll have to do here.
Then we are still trying to adjust to the school schedule, getting the kids up and all. There is a 2 block walk to the bus stop and we have just barely caught the bus the last 4 days. Eeek.
I am also Admin. VP of the local MOMS Club chapter and am trying to organize a 9/11 remembrance to bring home baked goodies to the fire stations. I think I take on too much.
On top of that I feel guilty about letting DD watch too much tv while I am trying to get things done. sigh. Ah, well. We do what we can.
I can't even remember what all I've been cheating on. Just too many snacks, until I hit Saturday, and my in-laws ordered pizza.
I will try to get back to basics today.
Did get in my exercise and my water yesterday, but blew everything else.
I will look at my cook book today and see what looks good to share. I've only tried 2 recipes out of it so far. The Chicken Alfredo was delish, but it calls for jarred alfredo sauce and I'm not sure if you can get that there. I also tried the "Beef and Veggie Pie", which was kind of like a meatloaf with veggies in it. It was OK, but I think the seasoning was a bit too much for me.
I'll check in later.

Janine!

i am sorry that you are struggling. You do have a full plante. My husband calls me "helium hand" because I too tend to get too involved.

Let's just take it one day at a time. One meal at a time.!!!

I was down by 8 pounds but then got trapped in my home for a few days during the typhoon and put on one of those pounds. Today I have been doing well as far as other eating plans go, but not too great for LC. I have to get back to it for the next 10 days until I leave. 5 more pounds!!! I have to do it, so that I can breath in my size 8s. I know...I am really close to my goal, but it has been an extremely frustrating 2.5 years...I have been battling for every pound and I only loose every time I have a period, and i only have them once in a blue moon.

I am giving up on the points for this week...But I need to do something, any ideas?

The chicken sounds good. I can get LC Alfredo sauce. My kids like meat loaf. Maybe the "meat and veggies" recipe can give me some suggestions.

How about if we do this...

You pick ONE goal for tomorrow. For me it will 100% eating.

Let me know what that goal is and then how you do. Remember that I will still love you even if you do not do so well...but let's just do one thing and see how it goes!

Holly

Thank you!

You did get me over the hump. I was such a bad girl over the weekend.
But... I told hubby that I was going to Body Pump on Monday.
So, I left the kids with him and went.
That got me back on track, or better anyway. Didn't make it yesterday as DD wasn't feeling too well in the morning, and today we went to a kids open gym, but I feel better. Got a lot of stuff done the last two days and the real estate agent brought me my copy of the floor plan yesterday. That does make me feel a bit better.

As for TOM, you were saying that it only comes once in a blue moon. Is this your first time at LC? I know of serveral folks who became pretty regular once they started LC. I am convinced that my SIL has PCOS, and LC is the treatment for it.

Anyway, thank you again for the support.
I'll try to get to the recipes this evening for you.

My goal for the week is no snacks after 7pm. It's a doozy for me, but I can tell it makes a big difference.
Oh, and I'm at 182.5 today. :jumpgreen

Took long enough, but I think it'll be a good week now.
I'll give some thought to an alternative for the points, too, and see what I come up with.

This is from The Everyday low-carb slow cooker Cookbook by Kitty Broihier and Kimberly Mayone

Creamy Layered Chicken Casserole

1 Tbs butter

2 tsp dried minced onions

1 15 oz tub part skim ricotta

1 egg, beaten

1 ? cups shredded part-skim mozzarella, divided

2 16 oz jars prepared Alfredo sauce

4 premade, packaged crepes

1 16 oz bag frozen mixed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrot), thawed and drained

3 cups cooked chicken, but into bite sized pieces

? cup grated Parmesan cheese

? tsp black pepper

  • grease the slow cooker crock with the butter (leave excess in the crock); set aside. In a medium mixing bowl combine the minced onions, ricotta, egg, and ? cup of mozzarella; stir well.

  • Spread ? cup of the Alfredo sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker crock; top with 1 crepe. Using a spoon, drop 1/3 of the ricotta mixture onto the crepe. Top with 1/3 of the bag of vegetables, then 1 cup of the chicken, ? cup of the mozzarella and another ? cup Alfredo sauce.

  • Repeat layering 2 more times, starting with a crepe and ending with the last of the Alfredo sauce. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, pepper and last ? cup Alfredo sauce.

  • Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. When done cooking, let the casserole sit, uncovered, for 15 minutes before serving.

I used corn tortillas instead of the crepes and it was delish. I'm not sure how much that changed the nutritional stats, though. I tend to do a lot of substitutions when I cook depending on what I have on hand. I also used reg. mixed veggies (ie corn, peas and carrot mix- because DH won't touch broccoli or cauliflower). Just another big kid, I guess. sigh

Hey, Holly!
Are you still hanging in there?
I was talking with a friend who was stationed with her hubby in Japan, and she explained how bad the typhoons can be. I'll say a prayer that you and yours are all safe.

As for my progress, I'm doing better.
I have 8 baskets full of goodies on my table ready to go to the fire station in the morning. And I haven't been real temped to nibble. Tried a biscotti, but that's about it.

Doing Ok on the no late snacking. Had a cheese stick last night, because I really felt hungry, but none today. Food not 100%, but since I didn't go overboard on portion sizes, I think the damage should be minimal.

Been doing some reading of the Dr. Sarno book that a friend recommended for my back pain, and actually talked myself out of a backache last night. I am encouraged. I feel pretty good. Tired, but good. A little less overwhelmed with all I have to do as well.

Got in a good workout at the gym and am hoping to settle into a regular schedule with that. I do feel better when I go.

Uh, oh. Look at the time. Got to get the kiddos to bed.

I'll catch you soon, I hope!
