Oh, I'm here, Shell!! Sorry, been a hectic weekend doing stuff around the house, plus I'm still nursing "stupid wrist" after that fall last week.

Sounds like you are doing ok, though!! I like your plans for Thanksgiving so far, too. We will have the traditional "Thanksgiving Ribs" LOL!! DH will be in Florida with his Mom, but evidently DF is going to bring his "friend" Marjorie back from Arkansas with him for that week. So looks like I'll have to cook something after all........It's sure not that she wants to see me. She wants to shop. OK, I'll stop being catty now

Nope, a liquid protein snack or meal won't last as long as solid food. Sears resisted protein drinks for several years, but there was a big call for Zoned ones. You just need to remember you won't get as much mileage out of a liquid.

Good to know about the oatmeal!

Sharron, the soup sounds very nice. Sometimes the most simple things are the very best.

I forgot to mention I added a smidge (1 teaspoon? per 5 cups stock) of onion powder. The kids liked it so much we did it 2 x

I was going to warn you about that Shell, I just didn't have time this morning.

I've done really well today -- eaten lightly, actually, but that isn't a bad thing! My best Zone meal today was: 2 egg chz omelette with broc and mush, bacon and homemade applesauce on the side.

Lunch I just had a HUGE salad with ranch, sf seeds, bac bits and p. chz and about 2 ounces of tuna on the side. It worked!

I'm hoping to show a loss in the morning. I've certainly been in the little room enough today

WTG girley!!!! Yes...definitely take anything you can get from old whoooooshie

The Zone protein powder I was talking about is NOT the drink/shake mix. This is protein powder you can stir into hot cereal, or soup, or whatever to get your protein blocks. It seemed to work better this morning for some reason????....don't know why though. Anyway, it's 7g pro per scoop, 0 carbs, and 30 cals.

I'm trying very hard to STAY OFF the scales at the usual *sneak peek* time on Weds.
I think something might be changing with my body...I noticed this morning my watch was sliding around on my arm more than usual ...so maybe my next visit to the scales will be good news.

Well, got some chores to do. They are forecasting a *cold* front for us on Thurs with the high of only 48 degrees, so I will probably make some more Zone taco soup...that stuff was gooooood, filling, and warmed me up nicely last time

Kind of a whacky day for me, foodwise. I felt like I was in the zone for the most part, but my blocks were not balanced :(
Ended up with 13pro blocks, 12carb blocks, and 9fat blocks...aarrgghh....all out of whack!

Then we had a whacky weather day also.....our tornado sirens went off; we had a few tornadoes on the other side of the metro area, out towards Midwest City. It felt weird when I left work, almost like there was electricity in the air...kinda errie, very humid and about 65 degrees. On the way home it rained so hard, I could only drive about 25 miles per hour...and that was probably to fast! About 15 minutes after I got home, it got dark and really spooky looking outside...then the warnings came on TV. It is our fall tornado season...and for good reason. Just whacky weather is all I can say; tomorrow is supposed to be only 48 with falling temps all day....and wind chills into the 30's!
That's OOOOOOklahoma for ya

Shell, if you felt like you were in the Zone, then you were

I did pretty well 'cept for TOM arriving early :o

My "best" zone meal yesterday: 1 chicken thigh, corn, salad with ranch and p. chz, raw milk. I was totally in the Zone for hours

ACK!!! I've got a sore throat and feel crummy!
I was a bit out of balance with my blocks again today...no appetite...wow, that's a first...LOL.
So far, I've had 8 pro blocks, 10 carb blocks, and 8 fat blocks. My sore throat would really like some ice cream, but I do not have any in the freezer, and I'm not going to the store tonight <sigh>.

Well.....
I stayed home from work today...feeling even more crummier than yesterday, if that's possible...ack!
Not very zoneful eating today; did good for breakfast, but just wanted some tomato soup for lunch; nothing with protein sounded good :( Will try and have a zoneful dinner, maybe the last of the leftover taco soup.
I don't think this is the flu, just a miserable URI(upper respiratory infection)...aarrgghh!
I just really don't have time to do this right now....like the cold germs care what I want...LOL. End of rant ...going back to lay on the sofa <sigh> ...oh, yeah...daytime TV stinks

Shell, who's very annoyed that she has the crud!

Oh, Shell, not again :crying:

Stay down and drink lots of tea!

I don't remember yesterday... oh yea, I had an allergic reaction to something in my salad (pre-prepared), unfortunately, I don't know what it was. I suspect the dressing though.

I did have a good Zone snack in the a.m. before that! Apples, pb and summer sausage.

Another good Zone snack: apple, pb and beef jerky. I don't know where I got it, but I found a really tasty one with only the eensiest, teensiest bit of sugar in it -- 1 carb for 1/2 the package! It is called Tengul, I think.

I was out of the Zone in the morning, though! I had planned to eat my eggs and have 1/2 apple. Well, I got distracted and forgot my apple. I was hungry about an hour or so later! :o

Still sick...still just doing tomato soup and froz yogurt...blah!
Was down a pound this am, but imagine it's only due to being puny; so hope it sticks. Ackkkk......I would LOVE an apple with pnb....just don't think that would feel to good on my throat right now
I'm off to hold the sofa down for a while; that seems to be the only thing I'm good at these last few days

Shell

ps: yeah, Bren...thanks for the hugs...they always make a soul feel better

Still home sick, but I do feel somewhat better this am...finally!!! I went to the am/pm clinic yesterday morning; surpriseningly, my throat culture was negative.

Started some new antibiotics(aarrgghh), and a new decongestant, so if that's what it takes to get over this crud, then so be it.

I have tried to be zoneful, but to tell you the truth, ice cream and soup have been just about all I have wanted. I think my tastebuds are beginning to return to normal...I hope

Hope you guys are staying well...this upper respiratory junk is for the birds!

Shell, who is beginning to feel *human-oid * again...LOL.

Worked Friday...finally felt like part of the human race again. Unfortunately, we were so busy(no time to eat lunch, drink my water, or even gopee ) I was really one
whupped pup when I got home.
Today is the first day I have felt *in the zone* since last week when I got sick :o
Now that I am re-hydrated, I have a sneaking suspension those 2 pounds I lost when I was sick, have now found their way back to my backside
Will weigh in am.

alrighty then...
