| comic sans Hi, my name is Lauren. I have been doing south beach for a while but have stayed in the 1st phase due to the fact that I feel i haven't been 100% by the book. I am ususlly so disiplined when I begin a diet, but PB became my downfall. I used to be on weight watchers and two tablespoons of peanut butter was like using the same amount of points used for a meal. So, i have missed it, and can't get enough of it. I eat right all day, and when I come home from the gym I am hungry. I go for the limited 2 tablespoons, but always over indulge. I have noticed a weight loss in the past few days (finally), and I was just wondering how much doing this can hurt me. I only really loose it about once a week, which i know isn't bad, but when i do something i like to do it right and i am just getting dissapointed with myself. Does anyone else do this? If so, has your weight been effected? Hope to hear from someone, thanks Lauren ![]() |

| You are human... don't be to hard on yourself, as long as you keep on tryin' thats what counts...Isn't the whole idea of low carb to try to eat healthier? And if you have gotten rid of SOME of the junk in your diet that is an improvement isn't it? Just try to take it one day at a time. There used to be a bunch of peanut butter lovers on this board so you are not alone (I like skippy creamy) but I try to stick with almond butter or the all natural stuff.

| I have been eating peanut butter while doing low carb. If I fear I will over indulge I take a little measuring cup and scoop some out so I know exactly how much I am eating. I am anxious to try almond butter though. They make it at a store I go to. I would say if you want it then have a little more often and be sure it fits into your day then maybe you won't go crazy when you finally give in to it.

| you know peanutbutter i think can become my down fall also. that and cheese.. i think i tend to over do it w/ dairy products. after at least 6 months of counting carbs i kinda stoped.. and i just tend to watch if i have a semi higher carb meal do to higher veggies i watch the rest of the day.. but i tend to forget about that when im eating some cheese cubes.. or snarfing down a spoon full of peanutbutter (and yah know it must bea work out thing beacuse i find my self reaching for the peanutbutter jar after i arrive home from the gym). good luck.. and seriously try not to beat your self up over this.. we are only human and to be human we make mistakes! so.. just maby wrap a note around your jar of peanutbutter.. saying "WHATS YOUR CARB COUNT" something that makes you stop and think.. or maby even stick a bag of almonds on top of it .. pull a few out .. and try those and drink some water.. if i get a snarfing mode hit me i try and drink a tall glass of water befor i eat something..(sometimes that want for food is your body wanting water and we are so usto feeding every time our body wants something we reach for food) good luck..

| I have also heard that sometimes if you are really craving a specific food, wait twenty minutes to see if the craving goes away. It often does! HTH!
