Default March 2005 in the Zone

Well...here we are. OK...work was super busy this week except for today.
I had a lot of things going on this week, so my eating was not perfect, but not totally bad either

Today was exercise day #62; I did the 3 mi WATP and 25 abd crunches.
Will be moving furniture tonight and tomorrow and prolly Saturday too.
If time allows, I may steam clean the carpet; since I have my own steam cleaner, it's not that hard to do...thank goodness

I'll try and report in tomorrow or Saturday as time allows; otherwise I plan to stay the course for now. I had mentioned doing some tweaks, but until I get this furniture thing behind me, I'm gonna just do what I've been doing.
Will make adjustments in the near future.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Girlie, hope you feel better soon, bless your heart.
Janell, you're doing good, girlfriend! Keep it up

Shelley

Hope your weekends are great and not TOO busy! Thanks for the encouragement Shelley-back at you! Didn't do so well with the excercise this week but still positive-did ok with the zone eating tho so I'm still feeling ok. having the grandkids over tonight for a sleepover so am planning diligently for good stuff for us all--then I have a cookie exchange on Sunday I got roped into so we'll see how that goes. The cookies can stay in the car until Monday morning comes and I can share them at work--sounds like a pretty good plan to me.

Quickie check in...moved furniture and got a lot of cleaning done. The new stuff will be delivered tomorrow...yipee!!!!

Was in the zone most of the day, then kinda *fell out* at dinner. I don't expect a loss this week and I will be happy if I just maintain
Plan to re-group, so to speak, on Sunday and activate my *tweaks* and see if I can get out of this slump this month.

later...

They delivered the furniture yesterday and all went smoothly Now, I want to go look at wallpaper and paint!!!!!!! When I get something on my brain...well, you know...I sorta get OBSCESSED!!!!!!! I may wait until next month to do that though.

Well.....need to do some chores to get ready for the work week...

Day #65 of exercise: 2 mi WATP with extra triceps work and 25 abd crunches.

Now, what I really wanted to share...we had the best dinner...even DH went on and on about the *gravy* I cooked an eye of round roast beef today...roasted it in the oven for about 5 hours. Then I took about 1/2 cup of the meat drippings and added 1 C of water, brought that to a boil and added a splash of worchestershire sauce. Then I added in 1/4 tsp increments, xanthan gum and whisked as it cooked...it took about 3/4 + of a teaspoon to thicken it. I had caulimash with gravy.....pure heaven! , and some steamed broccoli and yellow squash with butter and salt and pepper...just to yummy. Anyhoo, that was my first time to do mashed fauxtatoes and gravy and let me tell you...being a *country girl* I could 'a gone for seconds, but I didn't

Also, Walmart neighborhood market had minicarb mixes on sale...I suspect they are trying to get rid of them all, but at 2 for $1.00 I thought I'd give them a try. I made the chocolate cake, and while it's nothing to really write home about, I made a pretty good dessert out of it in the end... I topped a small square of the cake with about a 1/3 cup of sf vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled a bit of sf chocolate syrup over it, and again, was in heaven! I counted the whole dessert at 1 carb block and 2 fat blocks. It was worth it not to go into screaming mimi's for lack of a dessert.

OK....guess that's it...just wanted to share...I'm in the zone, I do believe

I'm glad you're in the Zone

I'm back. I was in the Zone yesterday! Woo Hoo! I've been a "pain thing" for so long that I didn't know if I was or not

My menus yesterday:
bfast - 1 french toast with fluffy stuff ("ooey gooey gloppy" article in DB here at LCE), 2 or 3 sausage links and a few grapes. Worked well
lunch - homemade LC chicken strips and mushrooms, baby carrots
dinner (forgot my snack!) - chicken, CRAWDADS, baby carrots, apple slices and a mug of raw milk.

I'm off tomatoes and trying to be "respectful" of wheat. I'm back to exercising. not quite sure when I'll start walking again, but did my yoga this morning.

Here's to a Zonish day

I am out of the zone! It's my own fault, so I've no one to blame but myself...as usual.

Girlie...welcome back! Sounds like you are feeling somewhat better...I'm so glad for you! You've had a time of it, sister You were missed!

Day #68 of exercise for me: did 2 mi WATP with 30 abd crunches, and extra triceps work.

I've struggled this past week or so...I hate to sound like a broken record...worse yet, a whinner...blah! So, I may need to take a time out until I get in a better frame of mind.

Have to say I agree with Shelley. Feeling yucky myself. Had a great week Monday through Friday and then let my guard down. I'm trying to be determined again and get back on that focused plan but it's Monday..... hugs to you both. J

I did pretty well yesterday -- a bit more wheat than I like, but still down 1/4" and .5 pound. I'm in the next decade

Have a Zoneful day!!!

I think I got myself together a little bit today...better than last week at any rate.
Still not in the zone, but headed in that direction I think

Girlie....thanks for those hugs! I sure needed them! Yay for you on getting into a new decade

Janell...sorry you are having a hard time. You have my sympathies...believe me!
Hope things turn around for you soon

Hope you're both doing well-I have a beastly cold but am doing really well this week. I seem to maybe have this Zone thing a little better figured out at last and think I've found a pretty good formula for the week at work. I'm really staying to keep on target and think the snacks are helping. I've done better with both drinking water and excercise and actually feel a little less "bloaty"--if you know what I mean. Anyway-keeping an eye on your posts has been very helpful. Thanks--

I'm going to be determined this weekend and will update you on Monday with a success story--how's that for optimism???

Hey Janell,
So sorry to hear you have a nasty cold...aacckkk! Take care of yourself and do whatever it takes to get over it, and I mean food wise also. Be sure and keep those fluids going in...water, green tea, water, soup, and oh yeah...did I mention water?...I'm sure you know all that stuff
(((get well hugs)))

I get to be off today It's spring break and almost all our doctors are gone, so the surgery schedule is almost non-existent. Tomorrow will even be light...yahooo!
Then after tomorrow, I will be on vacation for a week...yahooo again!!!! DD and grandson are flying in from LA. So next week will be a big challenge for me, as DD and DGS thrive almost exclusively on carbs and tofu Of course, Nonney and Poppy (what little GS calls us) HAD to get him an Easter basket filled with goodies
I'm still going to try to do my WATP everyday...we'll see what happens with that.

I made a zone breakfast cake this morning. I will post the recipe in the zone recipe thread in this forum as soon as I can get to it. It was pretty good, and I think you could even tweak it a bit more from the "basic cake". I should have probably baked it in a muffin tin instead, as it had more of a muffin type texture. Anyhoo.....
I'm off to do some chores that need my immediate attention...har!

later...

Shelley

Thanks for the cold advice-it's good to be reminded. I've stayed home today from work-have no voice at all and really got pooped out yesterday. The green tea was a godsend and my husband made me a great smoothie with yogurt and orange juice that felt wonderful on the throat-probably numbed it! Continuing to do good in the zone-it's always amazing how a little weight loss will pump up the motivation! Will try to walk again on the treadmill tomorrow-but for now it's jammies and naps!

Easter will also be hard here-my 2 grandkids will "need" baskets too and, of course, Grandma will try to make wise choices but you know how that goes! At least I will try to pick candy that isn't my favorite. Right now a handful of mixed nuts seems more appealing! Enjoy your day off and the week of vacation. Sharon-hope you're well also. Janell
