Default I cheated over the 20 carb mark

I cheated today. I had 30 carbs instead of 20 and i just finished my first week. I have been really good all week but today i was so tired and had no energy and i felt so sick and dizzy. I was pretty good for most of the day having 20 carbs but i just felt so sick this evening and the low carb foods were not doing it for me so i eat a whole bunch of veggies like bell peppers,celery and cucumbers after i hit my 20 carb mark which brought me up to 30grams of carbs. I know i went over but after that i felt way better the sick and dizzy feeling went away. I just feel so bad that i had to cheat. I don't understand why i felt so sick. Anyways I am just wondering how much that will affect my losing weight. How strick is it?

Does the south beach diet restrict you to 20g of carbs in the first week?

Are you doing South Beach or Atkins? South beach does not restrict you to 20 carbs per day during phase I, whereas Atkins Induction calls for 20 carbs per day for the first 2 weeks. I am a bit confused by your post. At any rate, if you consumed extra carbs in the form of raw and fresh veggies, I doubt it will have a significant adverse effect.
Perhaps you can re-read your book and get back on track

Hi. I am on the southbeach diet but i guess i got it confused with the atkins 20 carb restriction. I guess i need to reread a few things. Anyways I went on the scale today and i lost 3 pounds in 8 days and 1.0 inche off my waist! So i am happy about that I wasn't losing any before! I started using a low carb protein shake into my diet but i hope that doesn't stall my weight lost. Anyways thanks for your advise.
