Default Starting over and waking kefir grains

I have been gone from here for sooooo long. This AM I decided to wake my kefir grains that I put into the freezer Nov. 16, 2003. Hopefully they surived the cryogenics.

I'll keep ya'll up to date on how they do.

Pam

Wow, didn't realize that the grains I packed up were so few. It may take a while to get them going. They are very small and just a few.
Wish me luck.

Best of luck, Pam.

If they don't take off after a while, I'm sure one of us can send you some more to get restarted!

Today the grains look GREAT. They definately are resilant. I forgot I had even frozen a flat grain. The dogs enjoyed the first straining. I'll wait a couple of batches before I down any. Give them a chance to make the best kefir possible.

Well, I tried the kefir after the 3rd batch. It's really good. They are back up to speed and doing great. Now to get my attitude back in the right direction I'll be improving my health and loosing weight within no time.

Great that your grains took well to their hibernation and have sprung back into action, Pam!

I know what you mean about attitude, too. I find it easier to manage my kefir factory than my own attitude sometimes.
