Hi girls,

This is an interesting thread. I haven't inc. PP but, am considering it. My sister in law loves it. however, this school "nightmares" made me remember weighing 172 in the 7th grade. I still can't get over that.
I also have joined the lose 25 for Christmas group. Anyway, good luck I know we can do it!!

Buffie S,
Glad you stopped by! Hang out here with us and post often and lets cheer each other on.
GO TEAM GO LOL
I really like PP. I needed a little more structure and dicipline, so it seems to be good for that. Weight wise, I still haven't lost anything(started PP in July), but I am maintaining. Could be worse I guess...LOL.

Thanks all. But to tell the truth, I don't know what the PP diet is. I am on Atkins which I am assuming is similar. But still, I think I don't have any metabolism anymore. lol I'm thinking about doing the induction phase for a week and see what happens. Something has to get this weight moving!

It's very tempting for me to stack a few books on my scale and see if it CAN register anything other than 149. Stuck at a dead stop since August 1. sheeeeeeeesh!

Ginger,
I know you've probably done everything one usually does to break a stall...more water, more exercise, a few more carbs, shaking it up any way you can think of...
All I can say, is HANG IN THERE!!! You've done a super job and you are really really close to goal....You Can Do IT!!!
Ya never know....the next time you step on the scales, they just might surprise ya

Dig in for the duration!

Thanks for the encouragement, Shelley. Just back from my second trip to the gym this week. DH and I committed to 3 a week Tues-Thurs-Sat with the only allowable excuse for not going being death<G>. I AM seeing a difference in the way my clothes fit so my brain knows that muscle is being built and fat is being displaced.... my eyes are hungry to see the scale numbers drop...guess I need to shift my focus from scale numbers to the measuring tape, eh?? I won't give up. The benefits are too great... I *FEEL* better... unimaginable to give up!

Good morning everyone I started atkins in July and in August conformed to my "own" lc plan. I did well until about a week ago. It was my first cheat since I started and now I am having trouble gettting back on track. I'm thinking maybe I need to do something similar to induction in order to stop cravings I started again and to get that overall "good well being" feeling I did have before all these carbs were given reign over my body. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep. That first cheat is a slippery slope!

Do what you have to do to reset your mind on staying on your plan. If it means being very strict and restarting induction, that's the way to go. I can usually revisit my books to remind myself how much good I'm doing (and how much harm the carbs bring) and that's enough to get me back on track. It's very much a YMMV thing.

Welcome to the board!

May I join the Christmas Club?

My scale is also stuck these last two weeks. Before that, I saw a drop every day (scale shows 1/2 pound increments). Guess I got spoiled.

Haven't excersized yet cause there just isn't enough time (working two jobs). Will try to sneak in some walking on the weekend, dog could use a little too!

Lauri and Lulubelle,
Welcome to our thread. Some of us are doing Protein Power, some of us are doing combo PP with Atkins, some are doing their own LC thing.
Some of us are stalled big time,(I've been stalled since February...aarrgghh!!), and some of us are close to goal, and some are not. What I'm trying to say here I guess, is hang out here with us if any of the above fits, or just hang here with us just for the fun of
it...
Post often and let us know how you are doing!!!

Shelley

Hey PP and Atkins mix - that's pretty much where I started in february. Only now it's sort of my own thing. Now that football season has begun my "thing" includes massive quantities of low carb beer. Gives new meaning to PP plan. lol

Hey Rob,

How does the low carb beer fair in a taste test. I've been meaning to try it but haven't picked any up yet. My fave regular beers is Corona Extra or a plain old Bud.

Thanks Shelley

Ginger- the new Michelob Ultra tastes pretty good at 2.6 carbs per bottle. I usually drink Miller Lite because of the low alcohol content since I have to drive home after these football parties and find If i limit beer to one every 40 minutes I can stay stone cold sober (well almost). The Ultra kind of makes me sleepy and gives me a headache. But YMMV - try them both.
Miller lite has 3.2 g carb.
