I'm on day 3 of the SB diet. I am experiencing some bad leg cramps. Has anyone else had this problem. If so what did you do to resolve it. Thanks

Are you taking a good, quality multivitamin supplement? A combination of calcium, magnesium, and potassium works wonders.

I'm not familiar with the SB plan, but I agree with Shrinky that the solution to leg cramps is likely to be a good cal/mag supplement plus potassium. Foods rich in potassium include salmon, sardines, tuna, spinach, mushrooms, tomatos, and broccoli (among others). One easy way to make sure you're getting enough potassium is to use a salt substitute. Adding in 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon daily, in addition to your good diet, should be about right. One other thought is that dehydration itself can cause leg cramps, so do make sure you're drinking lots of water. Best wishes, Sky 186/144/under 150

My hubby is having those too.I haven't had any myself but I agree it's probably low potassium.

I used to have those too and my doctor told me it was low calcium. But it wouldn't hurt to increase your intake of potassium and magnesium also. Being female we should be taking extra calcium anyway along with a good multi. You can find calcium and a good multi here: www.livehealthynow.unfranchise.com go to the health and nutrition. These are isotonix which means they are ready for absorbtion by the body and get absorbed in as quickly as 5 mins. The extra calcium may be just what you need to keep the cramps away. Also on that site you can take a Nutri-Physical. It will tell you what supplements you need to be taking. It's free, give it a try. shawny

Barb Keith from the Atkins forum has the theory that leg cramps are a signal of a whoosh. Any of you have any whooshes after your cramps??? I had one a couple of weeks ago. (cramps followed by a whoosh) Ilse 380/304.6(WW)/154 5'7" "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" Walt Disney
