how much do you eat with your veg and meats? i know i'm getting too much, but i have a hard time only eating a little. and i know it's good for me but for a while is it better to not eat any until my body adjusts to the meat and veg only plan? i don't eat grains, they make me sick. basically i've cut out dairy and feel better but replacing with fruit, not good

Madison: "almost blacking out" from eating fruit is not normal for this or any other diet. You need to seek medical attention, and get a complete physical! Webmaster

I did a couple of weeks ago before starting this. I'm sorry, I should have said that!! Dr. said I have low blood sugar. He recommended this diet! I went in for some joint pain and dizziness. He thinks I have some kind of arthritis and put me on prednisone and told me to study the low carb diets but suggested paleo as being the best for my health. I go back the 8th for more blood tests to see how I"m doing on both conditions.

Hi Madison! You're going to love paleo So you're pretty new to eating this way? How many days have you been at it? I'm just wondering because most people notice a real drop in cravings within a few days. Are you eating enough fat in your meals? Could you try to limit fruit to just one meal a day for a couple days (with dinner, maybe?) just to get on track? Usually I don't need too much to be satisfied - but often I'm not satisfied until I have some. Typical amounts with a meal might be 1/2 grapefruit with breakfast, 1 cup blueberries with lunch, 1/2 small canteloupe or 1 cup cherries with dinner. I never eat fruit alone - either with a meal or with nuts for a snack. Much love, Fluffy

thanks Fluffy I started this the 18th of May, went off track over Memorial Day, then got back on Monday. I did increase fat on Tuesday and wow, Wednesday had tons of energy. It was like night and day! I haven't had any fruit today yet. I might eat a lot of veggies today and skip a day of fruit and see how I feel. I never thought having so much fat would make feel me better. I don't want to eat that much every day but it sure gave me a boost to start out with! I've had the munchies today even though I'm not hungry. I know it's mental so I've been trying to keep busy.

Hi! Sorry not to answer sooner, I was gone over the weekend. I'm doing much better. It's been hard though not eating all the fruit I like! I've been eating alot more protein and that seems to help. thank you for asking

Prednisone is a streriod. A heavy duty one at that. One of the side effects is dizzyness, and blackouts at the most extreme. Ask your doctor for an alternative if your are having blackouts. Good luck and glad you are feeling better.
