| With a little trial and error as well as a bit of tweaking, the daily food choices are becoming a lot easier and I just can't believe how much food we're eating! It's great and we're not hungry, just as the program promised. After one week, I am down 4 lbs. and although I do not expect the weight loss to continue at that rate, I am really enjoying the 'balance' that this way of eating has provided. Even my skeptical husband is now a believer. He has type II diabetes and has had to cut back on his medication since he is better able to control his blood sugar !The tweaking came from realizing that our sensitivity to carbs made us both prematurely hungry when we ate very close to the 40carb/30pro/30fat level. By adjusting the carbs a bit to a 35carb/33pro/32fat level, the hunger AND the fogginess have completely disappeared and we are satisfied until (and usually beyond!) our next snack or meal time. It's just amazing that the tiny tweak make such a difference! While I do not yet feel confident enough to use the eyeball method, I'm finding that my nutrition software has been a godsend for this purpose. Well...THAT and a good food scale. And it gets easier every day as the more I work with the plan, the more I understand how to tweak the numbers. So there you have it. So far, I'm a believer. Yes, it's true, one can switch from Atkins to the Zone with success. Thank you Beachfox and Brenda for your encouragement and tips. They are SO very much appreciated. My husband thanks you also! | I'm so pleased for you Donna (and the DH!) Well done for your perserverence! Its not easy to make such quantum leaps of faith but you have worked your way through to success! AND lost some lbs in the process! It IS amazing when one realises just how sensitive our bodies can be to the content of our fuel input. Also horrifying to realise how we have desensitised our bodies for so long! It really has been my experience that if we listen, via experiment and patience to what our metabolisms are trying to tell us - success is assured. Stay in touch eh! Best wishes |

| Donna, I am SO very delighted at your success. As you know, the Zone isn't always the easiest plan to understand or implement, so I also applaud your tenacity. How marvelous it is that your husband has already been able to better control his blood sugar! WOW! I wish for both you and your husband not only the weight loss you are seeking but abundant health and wellbeing. I hope you'll continue to keep us posted about your progress. Welcome to the ZONE!
