| Hi All, Since beginning this WOE, I am down 8 lbs! It's almost hard to believe that in such a short amount of time, I could be down that much. Technically, I guess that it's physically impossible to lose more than 1-1/2 lbs. of fat in one week. With that in mind, I figured that I was probably a bit "bloated" and of course, that contributed to my overall weight. Nonetheless, I am thrilled that all is going well. I have discovered that the best ratio for me, while keeping within 1300 calorie limit is to be a bit higher in the fat area and a bit lower in the carb area. This keeps me satisfied and my carb sensitivity doesn't go into warp drive. I have NO cravings whatsoever and going 4-5 hours between meals is no longer a problem. As you all may remember, this WAS my biggest fear! Although I am still weighing and measuring everything, I'm trying to branch out into making my own meal favorites "Zone" friendly. Many have worked out quite well while others...well, they still need a little work. My DH is completely off his diabetes medication and has been closely monitoring his blood sugar to be sure he stays within acceptable limits. He has also dropped 6 lbs. Needless to say, he is amazed...as am I. All in all, I have to admit that I am really pleased with this very balanced plan. Thank you all for your continued support as I still consider myself a relative newbie. Donna |

| Donna, I am SO delighted that everything is still going so well for you and your DH. What great news that he is off his meds! (Do hope that's with his Dr's ok, though.) Isn't it great when you find (finally!) something that really works for you, and is healthy as well? Congratulations on your loss! I suspect you are also feeling good, too. Isn't it nice NOT to be hungry and NOT to have those Carb cravings. I'm not surprised at the modifications you are making; sometimes just a little jiggling and observation of the results can really pay off in with a dramatic difference in how you feel. I do much the same. Your enthusiasm is catching, too. I'm delighted that this board could play a small part in your success, but YOU are the one doing the work, and making the plan work for you. So again, congratulations on your success! Please keep me posted, or if you have any questions at any time, I'd be very happy to do my best to answer them. I know Beachfox will also be very happy for you. Now, I have to go weigh some black soy beans and leftover beef for taco filling-- You know the drill! Have a great evening.

| Hey Donna and G'day Brenda Great news! Excellent on the lbs drop too and DH's success. Yep - those modifications are part of my life too! I like to call it creative eating! Wonderful not to be hungry or have the cravings too and so pleased you are finding the measuring process valuable - I wouldn't do without it. Black soys and beef - sounds delicious Brenda! |
