    Default First timer on SBD

    Hello there!
I am on Day 3 of Phase 1 and am trying to be optimistic about losing weight in the next two weeks. I only have about 10 lbs to lose, but they have been very stubborn in the past and I am hoping SB will cure that. I feel pretty restricted on what I can eat, which indirectly has limited my calorie consumption, which I guess isn't a bad thing! I made those little spinach quiches (yum). I put a little tabasco sauce on them to spice them up. I also added a little canadian bacon. I am sure by the end of week two, I will be "egged out", but I am willing to stick with it. I miss my cereal!

Anyways, I have a question.....I bought fat free whipping cream (generic cool whip) and am wondering if that's ok for phase 1? I looked at the ingredients and they don't look too promising. Any thoughts?

Good luck to anyone starting the SB journey....I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I can acheive my weight loss this time around.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome to the board! I'm not sure about your question though, sorry! My hubby and I lost our weight on Atkins and then switched over to South Beach, so I'm not as familiar with the phase I for it. Anyone else know the answer?

PS By the way, come on over to the "Everything Else" forum! We have a bunch of fun games on there that we enjoy playing......

Look at the carbs. Not sure, but I'm guessing it's probably 20-40 g per serving which is definitely too much. On SBD, the fats aren't as important as minimizing carbs. The only thing with fats is eliminate trans fats and keep saturated fats to a minimum. Olive oil is king.

    Hello,
I have just started the SB as well and I did read the book cover to cover. I am trying to navigate my way through this forum. I have never been on one before but I thought it would be a good way to stay focused. I am on my last 2 days of the first two weeks. I've pretty much have kept eating salads and eggs, I got a call from my physician that my cholestrol is too high. So I am asking Should I begin eating a lot more vegetables and stay away from meats?
