Question New to SBD

Hello,

This is my first week on the South Beach Diet! I don't know about anyone else but I'm a little confused by his book. It doesn't explain portion sizes or how much you should eat a day. I've been eating a salad with 2Tbs of ranch dressing(with less than 2 grams of sugar) for lunch each day and having laighing cow cheese as my snack. Is that too much cheese and fats? I'm tall and don't have a lot of weight to shed so I'm unsure if this diet will work for me. My mom is also on this diet so we both could use this advise!Any insight to this diet is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!

Just wanted to say welcome! Actually, I lost weight doing Atkins and then switched over to South Beach afterwards, so I'm really not that familiar with phase one either. Been too long since I read the book. Hopefully, someone else will jump in to answer your question soon. Regarding portion sizes, I think you're supposed to just eat a modest amount until you're full but not overdo it.

Thanks so much! I hope this works. I tried Atkins a while back but felt ran down by all the fatty meat consumption. I'm looking forward to learning more about this diet!
