| I always gain weight on vacation because i always give into temptation telling myself i'm on vacation so i deserve that cookie, any ideas on how to stop this??? |

| There's a really good sticky in the Atkins Ongoing Weight Loss forum, "The Danger of I Deserve". It's a really good read. We all have done that, but it's so much better to say, "I deserve health, and slimness", than "I deserve that cookie, or cake, or pie, or bread, or whatever"! Try to find places with low carb food that you can get enough to eat to be satisfied, keep yourself hydrated, and don't feel guilty if you eat the cookie, just get back to lc as soon as you can! | If you can bring with you stuff you know you can eat.... there are many recipies for lc cookies, lc cakes, pies, etc. if you must try to use those as your treat... as far as deserts are concerned while on vacation... if you are going to be gone for a week, it doesn't mean you have to have one every day... just cause you are on vacation, how do you handle your food choices at home.... yes we all want vacations to have special memories, but you can have those memories other than eating the wrong food choices, and then feeling guilty after the vacation is over and you have to get on the scale again.... I try to bring lc jello with me during vacation, (luckily we go to a time share where we do the cooking most days. when we go out, I am really trying to do my best with my food choices, once or twice I will give myself something as a "food treat" but I have learned that too many of those food treats makes for a weight gain. i you feel like you want a diet soda, have one, make a diet rootbeer float (pick up some lc ice cream....) there are things you can do.... hope this helps. c
