Question trying something new--Relacore?

I new to the whole forum thing. So bare with me. Within the last year, I've gained 30 lbs. I've always been smaller, around 110 to 120. I'm only 5'4. My diet has not changed at all in the last year, or my daily activities. Since i was 6 I've been active in tae kwon do, and i am currently teaching evening classes to preteens. I also run a two miles every morning before i go to work. So the gain of weight has come to a surprise. Of course my boyfriend doesn't say anything about it and says i am perfect and beautiful the way i am. But i don't like how i look. So, I've changed my diet. I love carbs. If i had my way, i would eat pastas and breads for every meal, but we know that isn't healthy. So i eat more greens and fruits. And I've been eating more protein as well.

So I've started looking for help else where. For the past couple of months bee experimenting with diet pills. I tried hydroxicut, no good. I also tried fahrenheit. It as well did nothing for me.

So this past week. I started relacore and also taking wu-long at every meal. If anyone has tried either or these at all, please let me know. Good or bad. THANKS!!

Hello, and welcome to LCE. I have not used any of the diet pills so I can't tell you anything about that. I just wanted say hey and tell you to read over the different low carb plans and find one that is right for you and buy the book. You will have so much more energy and feel so much better without all those carbs. Wishing you success.

Hey there!

I have taken Relacore. In fact I have a bottle sitting right here on my desk so that I can remember to take those pesky capsules three times a day. Even with them sitting right in front of me, I usually end up chugging them all down at once before I go to bed.

If you take a closer look at the bottle, it says that Relacore is a Stress Mitigating Compound. The bottle also says it helps prevent stress-related belly fat...not remove it. Personally I take that statement with a grain of salt as it can be widely interpreted. Relacore is basically a multivitamin with a proprietary mix of herbs that help alleviate stress added in. in my opinion, the herbs that they use in relacore arent the most effective for stress. I would recommend Kava, St. Johns Wort, or Valerian. Kava is the best, but tastes VILE, Valerian makes me sleepy. If you are in your late thirties/early forties, I would also reccomend Black Cohosh Root. Some vitamin shops carry blends as well. A brand called Happy Camper is quite popular but I didnt notice anything when I took it.

I take a lot of herbs for stress as I have generalized anxiety disorder but I dont like the side effects of my prescription medication. One trick that I have used that also helps to get my water intake in is to buy tinctures instead of pills. A tincture is the same thing as a pill but in liquid form. You just put an eyedropper full in your water bottle and you are set. There is a brand called Herb Pharm that has some really great blends. I vary between Good Mood Tonic, Healthy Menopause Tonic, and Pharma Kava. I have noticed that any of these do WAY more for my stress level than Relacore. I do keep taking it just for the multivitamin though. When The bottle is finished, I will move on to just a regular ole multivitamin.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Cat, have you ever looked at the website

www.hypericum.org

It's all about St. John's Wort and depression. It's quite interesting. I've been taking SJW for years, and can tell when I forget to take it for a few days, or if I run out and can't get a new supply for a time. I actually do better sometimes with a higher dose for particularly blue periods, but the usual dosage of 300 mg 3x per day works well for me mosts of the time.

Glad to see that others do the herb thing, too.

Anything like ginseng makes my heart race, so I stay away from those types of supplements. I am afraid to try anything that will "boost" my metabolism, for fear of the same type of reaction. I think a better boost is exercise.

Yes, I have seen the website; it's great. I have given SJW to both my husband and my son. I think it works FAB for them. My issues are more stress/anxiety, which is why I prefer the Kava. The Good Mood Tonic is a mix of Kava, SJW and something else. I take a couple drops of that and I no longer want to smack a certain *****y co-worker.
