| I have made kefir using storebought kefir as my starter and continuing making batches from this original for several months. No one local that I know of with grains. Now that I'm on Atkins, I don't drink kefir. Pardon my ignorance, but are you making milk kefir on your WOE plan? Thanks, CC |

| Hi, CC. I have been brewing kefir (from whole milk and grains) since I entered the maintenance stage some years ago. I test my blood sugar and find that with a small serving size (couple of ounces), it is BGL friendly for me, so I often have a "shot" with breakfast and/or dinner. More than the liquid product, however, I like to make kefir cheese which, like any other cheese, is even "friendlier." HTH.
