Hello everyone, I have been struggling with eating eggs. they taste yicky to me, so when I eat them I have to force them down my throat ... until now!!:fork: I have discovered "Natural" eggs. They cost more but my goodness they taste totally different to me. I used to raise chickens, and actually sold 8 dozen eggs a week, so I guess Im still looking for that real fresh taste and I finally found it. They cost more, but I will actually EAT these eggs. I have had eggs sit in my refrigerator until they were so old, I finally threw them down t he disposal! Hopefully these eggs will help me eat eggs, since they are so good on a Low Carb WOE! My dream is to be able to raise some more chickens (hens!) again and get me some more of them fre-shhh eggs. Shelak

I have to be in the mood for eggs, but when I am, I want fresh ones. We have a good source here. He actually brings them to our office! They are usually brown, and some are huge, and the taste is phenomenal. When egg production is low, usually in the heat of the summer, I really hate to buy eggs at the store, because they are so much inferior. Maybe I should invest in some hens, too.

I have 17 hens that lay almost a dozen eggs a day. There is nothing like the taste of farm fresh..............and nothing like raising the chickens and gathering the eggs yourself. anybody with low carb recipes that use a lot of eggs in them???

It's not unusual for people who have problems with heartburn or GERD to be a little intolerant of eggs; that could be why you have a little bit of a problem with them. I totally agree that "farm" eggs and "store" eggs are completely different. I have found that, in a pinch, the Eggland's Best eggs are a decent substitute. It's hard to pass by those 75 cents a dozen eggs, but I know I will be unhappy with them if I buy them. Luckily, we have a nearby source for fresh eggs and fresh chicken, which also is like a whole 'nother product when compared to the store brands. Aderyn

I believe, in my heart, that the problem some people have with eggs is what they, the chickens, are being fed. Now I have no data to prove this, but its what I learned at a wholefoods store here, is that some companies, chicken growers, actually take the dead ones (why they died I dont know) grind them up and then use that for feed. Now ... if that is true, no wonder they dont taste good. Chickens are natural vegetarians, not that they wont peck to death the frail ones who live along side them (I have raised lots of chickens) but they dont go on a eat the ones they kill. Survival of the fittest ya know? So when these growers feed chickens each other they are taking them from being mostly vegitarians to canibals, or meat eaters. (are they finger-lickin-chicken-pluckers then???) Anyway, if a chicken is allowed to go outside the coop and forage for her food she will eat some bugs, some grains, some worms, and then go to bed. Her eggs then are wonderful. Dark yellow yolks, and the white is high, meaning it doesnt just fall flat in the bowl or pan. THAT IS A GOOD EGG! I, once in my life, had 25 hens, each hen will almost every day lay 1 egg. I was selling 8 dozen eggs a week, and feeding my family the rest. It was great. So thats my .02 on eggs. I just know that the fresh, organic or natural eggs taste like an egg should taste! :cook: Its worth the price if you can afford to buy them! Shelak
