| I Was Once Told By An Emergency Tech, that If You Sweat A Lot And See Yourself Not Sweating That Its A Sign Of Dehydration. Do You Tend To Drink Water In The Am Or Afternoon. Not Really Sure Myself, Just Something Ive Heard. Im Sweat Enough For The 2 Of Lisa, Lol. On My Cardio Days At The Gym I Look As Though I Have Used The Bathroom On Myself I Sweat So Bad. I Know Its Supposed To Be A Good Thing, But Its Embarrassing As Well.

| Hi Knutters, welcome. My first advice to you if you really want to be successful is read up on the different plans out there, find the one that you think you can committ to and get the book and read it and use it as your guideline.

| Hello, I am 17 years old, 5’0” tall and weigh 110 pounds. I think I am not overweight but I want to be always fit and slim. So I want to start a healthy diet, along with exercise. When I say diet, I mean healthy eating habits, not a hardcore diet that is counting calories and stuff. It would be great help if you can help me make a plan for working out. And tips to keep me motivated. |

| Hi xbox, It's very refreshing to see a teen who is interested in leading a healthy lifestyle with a healthy food plan and exercise. I hope you maintain this wonderful attitude all throughout your life. That being said, since you are a minor, the only advice we can give you is to get parental consent, medical clearance for physical activity, and perhaps look into gym membership with your parent/guardian and consider instructions from a personal trainer. Best of luck to you!

| It's great to see a young person interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Shelley's advice is spot-on. Just to add to it: read everything you can. Since you've come to a low carb site, this indicates that perhaps you've heard about the benefits of eating this way. Look into books, websites and blogs that will give you good information. Here we are all about healthy eating, eating real food, cutting out the sugar and junk. And make sure your parents are in on your decisions on what to eat. As far as motivation, no one can motivate another, all we can do is encourage. Someone may have a goal to be a certain weight, another to wear a certain size, another to reclaim their health. Whatever their motivation may be, we can be here to let them know we care and cheer with them on their accomplishments or cry with them when they have a setback. I hope you find what motivates you, and a plan that will work for your health needs. |

I find that for motivation and ideas, reading the forums here is a great help. And kudos to you for deciding that you want to stay healthy and active throughout your life. That's a great idea, and very forward-thinking of you. I'm also glad to hear that you don't consider yourself overweight at this point. My daughter, who is 18, eats much better now than she used to thanks to low-carb-my low-carbing, that is! She doesn't actually even try to restrict carbs, but now she limits sugar and eats more veggies than she used to, as well as taking a multivitamin. In fact, she doesn't limit fruit or veggies at all, but just eats when she is hungry and tries to avoid junk food (Or, perhaps more accurately, I avoid buying most of it!) It's enabled her to lose some extra weight she wanted to lose, and now her weight is stable at a place that's comfortable for her. And she feels better and looks great. So it's worked out quite well for her. It sounds like with your attitude, you'll do well in keeping yourself in good shape. And that eye toward the future will no doubt serve you in other areas of life as well. Welcome to LCE. |
