Thank you so much! I bought the original Atkins off an ebay auction ($14.00 (with shipping) for a hard cover in great condition--I wanted the hard cover!) so hopefully it will be here early this coming week.

I did a fasting cleanse in preparation for this and today I was up a pound--boo hoo-- but I think it is just water.......I'm sticking to what I recall from the '72 plan and I think I'm in ketosis.....

How is everyone else doing?

Jennybear, did you get your book yet? Perhaps I need to look for a hardcover copy. Mine's a paperback, and it's very, very worn, and the pages are extremely yellow. But it's still readable, which is what counts.

Keep us posted on how this is working for you.

I was personally never attracted to Atkins '72 for the reason Summer mentioned--I've never looked at a menu review request and went, "Wait-you've got too many high fiber veggies in there, Cowboy."

But I definitely understand the desire to simplify and return to what you know has worked for you in the past. And I know it's short-term restrictions, not the infamous "no-carb" version of LC'ing that so many of us started out with, based on media misinformation and the ever popular "friend-who-lost-weight-advice" before knew what we were doing.

Not that I would ever do that.... Yeah. Right. And I never hopped on a scale 4 times in a single day, either....Ha!

Anyway, hope all is well and you're feeling good....
Haahaa too funny .. I just had my sweetie take the scale away from me.. I was getting a tad obsessive..eek! once a week will have to be enough

I do the orig atkin's now. I am in induction and will be there for a while. I am currently keeping my carbs under 20 a day. It works out great, and I am pretty much not hungry most of the time. I have found some awesome recipe ideas here on this site. I try and keep it fresh!

I have been doing low carb for 2 weeks now, and I have lost 7 pounds. I am quite happy with the results. Most of all I am happy with the way I feel. Before low carb, I felt like I was slowly dying away. Now, I have energy, mood stablization , and most of all my stomach is so much better. I had major acid reflux problems before. I am losing the dark circles under my eyes, my stomach feels flatter, and my skin looks smoother. I finally seen that low carb is not just a diet to lose weight quick but it must become a major overhaul in the way I eat, the rest of my life.

Atkins is a minimum of 25 grams of carbs, if you are doing lower it ain't Atkins. I'm glad to hear you are upping the carbs soon.

Sounds like you are eating delicious foods! Your creativity should be helpful to everyone on the boards. Full fat greek yogurt is a good food to add.
