Well... we had family visiting and I missed my ACV for THREE DAYS and I feel horrible.
I'm serious. I feel just awful today!

On top of that, I think I'm trying to get a UTI -- something about the way the baby is positioned; it's pressing on my bladder constantly.
So, I started my day with my ACV and I may even add an *extra helping* today. Wish me luck... I REALLY don't need a UTI! Maybe the ACV, with my cranberry extract, will head it off...

Summer

Summer I am praying for your situation.

Sharron that is FANTASTIC GIRL!!!!! Way to go.

I will say that as of yesterday I am down 5lbs!! I am sooo happy to finally be under the 200 mark. For the last few weeks I have been doing the VCO and only up to 2 tbls now and up to 2 helpings of ACV. I am going to say its due to those things. I am still letting my body see what the changes are with taking these in. I am not sure yet if my sleep is better due to them or not but I have chronic insomnia and wake nearly 3-5 times a night no matter what happens. The last 2 days I have only woken 1-2 times briefly and sleeping much sounder. I am so happy!! Now to get my energy back from this darn flu!

Blessings,

Carol

Emptynester,
It doesn't have to be Braggs, but it does have to be natural, raw, unfiltered and with the mother. I use Braggs and love it, but I think others out there use different kinds.

Summer,
I used to suffer so bad with UTI and kidney infections when I was pregnant. The doctor told me to stay out of the bathtub unless it was throughly disinfected and rinced really good. He said it was better to just take showers. Really bummed me out since I love to soak in the tub. Somehow germs from your body and household cleaners can find there way into your UT and wreak havoc. I also found that drinking the unsweetened natural cranberry juice from the health food store really helped me. I don't know about doing that on this woe but the extract might be just as good. I hope you ward it off. I'll say a prayer for you.

I found out something new with the ACV. It help me with my TOM. I usually suffer with cramps on the first day really bad. But today I woke up and took my ACV and I felt fine. I weigh 2 pounds more then yesterday but that's to be expected this week.

Summer - I'll say a prayer for you, too. UTI's are about one of the worst illnesses to have to suffer through - especially for those of us who try to avoid antibiotics as much as possible.

Jen - I think I'm in agreement about TOM. I'm at the pre stage and don't have nealry the number of symptoms as usual.

Emptynester - I use Bragg's. I had another brand that also had the "mother" in it that I found at the health store. I honestly cannot swear to you that there is a huge difference in how much better it works, but I will say that the Bragg brand tastes so much better.

Since I was starting back to school today, I was worried that I'd have to skip my lunchtime dose, but today I found out that my planning time is the block that we have lunch. Now I can keep a bottel in my cabinet and take a little swig before I head down to join the other teachers!

As far as I know, the only one that has the mother in it is Braggs. I am using Spetrum. It is raw, unfiltered, organic. It is doing a great job for me.

I definitely noticed about TOM as well! I felt much better.

Blessings!

The one I bought has mother also. It's called "Solana Gold" which I found in the healthy foods aisle at Ralph's.

It tastes GREAT too, much to my surprise....

Hey All!

Sharron, thanks for starting this thread. One question...do you have to buy Braggs over the internet or is at health food stores? I bought the Trader Joe's brand it and it terrible. I'm definitely interested in trying ACV.

Shannon, my Ralph's supermarket had Bragg's in their healthy products aisle, and I've also bought a bottle online which hasn't arrived as of yet!

Check to see if your market has a "health foods" type aisle - they might just carry it there.

Shannon, I was shocked at how bad the Trader Joes brand was! Tastes nasty Very uncharacteristic of their products!

You could do it in water with some stevia to make it passable.

I've not been able to find Braggs locally yet. I've used the Spectrum or Hains brands. Both are better tasting than the TJs was.

Blessings!

Thanks for the info!

Just came back from Whole Foods Market! They had it! Going to start it tomorrow.

1teaspoon of ACV and 8 oz of water 2-3 times a day! I'm going to add 1/4 a packet of Equal each time b/c I don't have stevia.

Shannon,
This is just my humble opinion, but I would not add Equal to your ACV!
I have mixed feelings about Nutrasweet anyway, but one thing I **DO** know is that it can cause all kinds of problems for people following this woe (way of eating).
Those of us who are diabetic know for a fact that it **does** raise blood sugar.
And I have heard it voiced time and time again that it causes stalls and increases cravings (for myself, too. )
But mainly, there just seems to be something *wrong* with adding a man-made chemical to a homeopathic remedy.
Personally, I have no problem drinking my ACV in water with nothing else added. I put 2-3 tsp. in 5-6 ounces of water and gulp it down. It's not so terrible and I follow it up with more water...
If you MUST use a sweetener, stevia is best because it is a natural plant fiber that is naturally sweet.
But that's just my .02
HTH,

Summer
