Yea, I'm on board with Summer and Sharron about the Stevia. Most health food stores sell Stevia au natural AND Stevia Plus. Stevia Plus is most excellent and Sharron uses it in a lot of her recipes. It's a really good staple to have. A little goes a long way.

I remembered to at least do my ACV this AM - 2 tsp. in 8 oz. water with 1/8 tsp stevia. It is pretty good. I like sweet and sour. I just have to get myself to remember to do it during the rest of the day.

I bought Tree of Life ACV - organic. It has sediment at the bottom, this isn't mother is it?

Barb,
I think it has to say it has mother in it. Yours is probably raw and unfiltered so it will have floaties in it.

I started taking Bragg's ACV around the first week in December. The day before Thanksgiving, I went to the Dr. and my blood pressure was pretty high. When I went for another kind of appointment on 12/18, it had dropped considerably. I know it was due to the ACV because after reading about it here, I did my own research. It has helped with my knee pain and has increased my energy. I take 2 teaspoons in water first thing in the morning and when I get home from work, about 30 minutes before dinner. I got mine at GNC.

The mother is very obvious, rather like a pancake floating in the vinegar. You would not miss it!

Barb, think kombucha tea here, they look the same from the pix I've seen.

I haven't seen any with the mother here. I am just getting the "natural" stuff that has been cultured from mother...

Blessings!

AAAHHHH, ok, that's kinda what I was thinking, that it's a floating pancaky thing like kombucha. So I guess what I have is unfiltered. I really like the taste. I'm glad I haven't bought any from TJ's although I suppose you could use that for cooking, ??

Actually, I have the Bragg's "With the Mother" and it's not so much like a pancake, but more like a *worm*.
Ewwwww.....!
I just try not to look at it.

Or pretend it's tequila. j/k!

I have the Braggs with the mother as well and it was a pancake sort of when I first bought it, but now it is like lots of worms floating about. Delish!

I have Braggs also but I dont have a pancake type thing in it. Its just cloudy with some "wormy" type things in it. It doesnt taste bad to me but dh doesnt like it. I also add stevia to mine and can drink it right down. I have been adding it to my Italian dressing too.

Blessings,

Carol

Summer,

Thanks for the advice. This morning, I drank it without the Equal and it was good. I might be making another trip to whole foods this weekend to get some Stevia.

So far, I've taken it last night and this morning. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Sharron, can't thank you enough for starting this thread! The benefits of ACV are so interesting!

I found some Braggs and it does not taste to bad just mixed with water.
I found a different brand with a brown sediment in the bottom and emailed them and there reply to my asking about if it was mother

quote:
> Thank you for your inquiry. The brown sediment in the bottom of the White
House Apple Cider container that you have is just that, "sediment". It is a
normal occurrence with vinegar. It is not "mother" as you thought it to be.
Mother is nothing more than "mold" which will form in vinegar if it is kept
for a long period of time.
>
> Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us and for giving us the
opportunity to respond to your question.

So you have to careful if there is a brown sediment on the bottom of the bottle doesn't mean it is the mother

no, not be careful. That is what makes it "natural" or "organic" rather than filtered. You DO Not want filtered vinegar. Those sediments are where a lot of the nutrition is located.

I meant say be sure that the sediment is mother and not just sediment. The one vinegar I brought had a brown like substance that could have fooled me if I had not emailed the company. It was a FYI for us that are new to Braggs now that I have a bottle of Braggs I can see the mother looks nothing like the sediment in the other bottle.

Really, the sediment just tells you it was from fresh pressed apple juice. It is ok.

It isn't necessary to have the mother in your bottle, though if you can find it, more power to you!!

I'm feeling great today! I'm getting TOM next week and usually I am a bloated mess. Feel great!

Going to keep taking 1-2 teaspoons 3X a day!

I'll keep you posted if I lose any weight. I'm in a massive stall and would LOVE it if ACV knocked me off it!

Hi all you fellow vinegar users....I did not have time to go thru the whole thread...so if i am repeating something ...please forgive me.............here it is ...i went to HFS and found Braggs...very inexpensive....took it home and tried it...2t, 8oz water and some splenda....put it in a wine glass...and played 'make believe' bleck ...it was awful...i was gagging....next day i mixed 2 tsp with 2 oz water....and did a vinegar 'shot'...not bad.....easier...like medicine...hurry up and do it....now i find myself craving it around noon and you know what.....my skin is clearing up.....i have tried everything else for pimples (yes i AM 34)...and this is working...finally and inexpensive treatment..and i dont even put it on my face...i drink it!!!!

If I set a goal...then when I finally reach that goal..I am afraid that I will use it as a license to eat..therefore..I have no goal...only to stick to this wol FOREVER!!! laura
