This post is to answer ways to use kefir whey. The whey is that watery sorta non fat milk liquid you get when you strain your kefir to make cheese. I keep this in the frig - BUT it seems to last forever.
I keep some in a spray bottle in the bathroom - and here is where the beauty "magic" comes in. Lightly soak a cotton ball with whey, you have the worlds BEST toner and cleanser.

spalsh face with water - use moisturizerto tighten skin, spritz whey on face and chest area, keep on for a good 5 minutes (I do this while I'm makeing coffee in the mornining.)Rinse this off in the shower, follow up with moisturizer.
On the weekends, when I have time, I spritz my face with the whey, apply a facial mask, wait - dont smile cause your face will crack - rinse throughly and yeah, moisturizer. The whey makes a huge difference in the facial, smoother tighter glowing skin.

FOR HAIR - ok, sometimes I just spritz my hair and shampoo as normal. BUT I love to take the time to rinse and massage the whey into my hair. I then cover my hair with a produce plastic bag and then wrap a towel around my head. I leave this on for about 10 minutes (drink coffee and watch CNN) then shower and shampoo (do this with the facial, it saves time to do it all at once.) OK now, IF I don't have to go out in public, I let the whey dry in my hair and wash it out in the morning. My hair shines, bounces and feels like silk.

Whey is also good for any skin problems. Know that nasty "blemish" we get once a month?? Dab whey on it, let dry, dab more let dry, in the morning your ready to wash and look at a clean face.
HTH!

LOL, AR, I will try it.....but I can't quite get your picture out of my mind......I'm seeing grocery bag head, naked, bod covered with whitish paste, lounging with CNN, coffee cup in hand........sort of an aboriginal look, don't you think????

update:
did the whey thing on my hair this morn. just dumped a glassful over my head and stick it in a clip. let it run over my face and left it till the end of my shower.
i noticed immediate things:
1. warm it up to at least room temp before using. refig cold whey is brutal 1st thing in the am!!! (du-uh!!!)

2. don't get it in your eyes. it stings -- but not for very long. (another du-uh!!!)

3. my hair lathered richly and was squeaky clean! i can't remember the last time i had that sensation!

4. it is now super soft and bouncy -- my kids keep touching it, lol!thanks for the tips!!!
Blessings!

Another thing I just discovered to do with the whey:
I have a nasty rash on my arm (not sure of the source -- getting tests done on liver, kidneys, etc...) and I've tried putting salves on it. I've tried oil of oregano, I've tried lotion...Well, yesterday I was inspired to try some whey on it. It really seems to be improving! Who'd a thunk it??? Anyway, if it really heals it, I'll definitely report!
Blessings!

Another use -
ladies, should you happen to get yeast infections under your breasts (it looks a heat rash - little tiny pimples and itches like crazy) Spray a whey!! (hey, laugh now, the jokes may not get better!!)
No, seriously, spray, let dry on skin (pat dry excess) and then cover with baby powder.
BTW, rumors of me being taken aboard a kefir alien space craft and brainwashed are false. I'm their new Queen, you should see my shining crown, my army, the way they worship me, the weapons of mass destruction - WHAT, you don't believe me???
<loads super soaker with whey and runs around house screaming MINE MINE, IT'S ALL MINE!!!!!!>(and in the background, a pale hand, silver rings on each finger, clad in black, turns off CNN and says "Mom, lay off, you are NOT the kefir queen, go to bed, you're scaring my friends"
really, I am?? Even the one with a purple Mohawk and tattooed scalp???? hmmm,
<smirk, tee hee, scared a punk, giggle>, slinks off to bed with plans for next attack!!)
