WOW the Paleo board IS really quiet. I went and *bumped* the Kefir thread for someone, but doesn't look like there's been much activity. Have you read any of the SBD threads? Perhaps someone there could help you out. From what I understand, it's very much like Atkins, but is lower in fat.

You're right, I really don't know much about Paleo, except that it's about eating much like our hunter/gatherer relatives. I think I would have a difficult time with an eating plan like that. I would miss a lot of my "farmer" products like cream, cheese and all that kind of stuff. I tried to do the no dairy challenge with Sharron Long and fell off the NO MOO wagon today. I just couldn't take it anymore. I had given it a 5 day try and it didn't jog my weight stall lose at all. So I said, forget it. It was torture. Probably much like you and your bread. I can certainly sympathize.

Ihope you get some resolution with your back and I hope the MUMs are doing better each day.

Hi Barb,

I am so happy today, I have re-started Paleo and there are two people who have finally posted to this forum.

I appreciate all your input and I hope to still be talking with you Barb, you have been such a tower of strength to me........not only that, I really would miss you.

I decided against the SBD because they will be adding the things back in at stage 2 or 3 that will make me crave bread again.

Today I have stuck religously to Paleo and I feel much better in myself. I have only put on about 3 pounds, so the damage is not great.

I aught to start another thread because this one is getting very long, what do you think Barb?

My friends will be here soon, so I have to go now, but I will be back and raring to go tomorrow.

Take care,
love louloo. x

Looloo, you know, there is another member named Paleofornow (Alice) who has posted a few times in the Atkins forum and in the "Off your MOO" on the challenge forum. You might want to introduce yourself!

Thanks a lot, we have just met on the Paleo board....just when I had nearly given up anyone following this WOE.

I haven't had a lot of time lately to read all the forum's but now my mother is on the mend I hope to rectify that soon.

thanks again,
love louloo. x

Hello Barb,

I am not abandoning you now that I have some new Paleo pals..........I love talking to you and I would miss you very much if you didn't join in with us.

My mum is much better now and even got dressed yesterday. my sister picked her up and took her back to her house for lunch, so that got her out for an hour. When she got back home she was glad to rest, she is still weak. I think that she is sooo relieved to know that she hasn't got cancer....you tend to think the worst when you are ill and with all the blood that she was bringing up....well!!!!

Anyway, the pressure is off of DH and myself now, so we are hoping to get back to normal.

I am hoping to hear from the Neurosurgeon this week. We can't make any plans for a holiday until we know what is going to happen to me. It is no fun going anywhere when you can't walk, is it?

Anyway, apart from the pain, I am doing ok and look forward to really getting back on track with the Paleo WOE.

You are a very busy person Barb, darting around all the forums and just being there for us all.....so thank you very much, it is most appriciated.

Thanks and take care,
love Louloo. x

Oh Louloo, that is great about your Mum!!!! I'll bet that is SUCH a relief to know it's not cancer. I am going to check out some the links from that site you posted about Paleo. Thanks for sharing that. I really am interested in it. It just widens my base of knowledge!!!! I pop in on the Cave Clan unite thread too. Alice and I don't live too far away from each other, so I am hoping we will meet one day.

I will be starting my support group soon. I am gathering information to present, getting my ideas in order and going to take the plunge. I'm a little nervous about doing it, but it's something I feel so passionate about, I'm going to not let my insecurities get the best of me. We'll just see where it leads.

Hello Barb,

http://www.paleodiet.com/ this is the other link to the site, I don't know why it didn't come out as a clickable link.

It is wonderful that you live near to Alice....I hope that you can meet up some day, she sounds like she is a real laugh to be around.

You will do really well in your support group, I wish I had someone here to do the same with. You are the ideal person for this as you have a lot of knowledge of most of the LC plans.....you are a good listener and you dish out very good advice.

I will be back later, hubby is calling out for food, LOL

Take care,
love Louloo. x
