Skinny, if you go back to the beginning of this thread, there's lots of info there. There's a link in here somewhere about Dom's Kefir In-Site which explains ALL about Kefiring.

Kefir grains eat up the milk sugars if properly fermented. So the average amount of carbs is around 4 per cup, but it varies depending how long it has "cooked." If you add frozen berries and splenda, of course, the carb count goes up. I use the 4 grams rule of thumb when figuring my carbs for the day. Then I add the carbs per 1/2 cup of strawberries when I add those. I use Stevia in mine also. I don't have any grains ready right now, so maybe someone else will pipe up and send you some. What state do you live in?????

Hi, Staci.

I've got grains but I send them wet and you're pretty far from me. I PM'd Barb, who often has dried grains which are dirt cheap to send and would save you some bucks.

If she doesn't have any, and no one closer to you has any at the moment, I'll be happy to get some to you.

Staci, Barb has some dried grains available. If you just go up this thread a bit and click on her name, you'll get an option to PM' her. Send her your address and she can get them to you.

(I don't think I remembered to tell her which thread the request was in when I sent her my PM. Duh!)

Thanks for your help, Maggie! Thanks to Barb, my babies will soon be on their way, and I'm soooo excited to start using them.
