Well, I had my WW WI last night. I was at 236, which was up 1.2 pounds. However, it was an improvement over my 5-6 pound roller coaster from the summer. I did swim, but not really long. I had some knee pain to deal with.

I hope everyone is doing well. Check in when you can.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, sunny, pleasantly warm, not too humid. My DH and I decided to go to downtown Chicago. It ended up like a productive day for me. We had a choice between walking around the downtown area or just north of that, along "Chicago's Magnificent Mile" = Chicago's "Gold Coast". I told him I was curious to see if Chicago had a couple of stores I hear about on BBC's "What not to Wear". I thought I would be more likely to find them along the "Gold Coast". (I found one of them, but the styles were too young for me, the sizes too small, and the prices way too high) When we parked, my husband pointed out a huge pointed billboard on the side of a building touting Atkins products and fresh veggies and such. (He took a picture, but I don't have access to it yet.} We ate at a Cajun restaurant we really like. Then we walked around for several hours, looking in several stores. When we left downtown, we headed to near Chicago's "Old Town" area. My DH wanted to look in a liquor superstore. I told my DH I was hoping we would find a health food store, as I needed more egg white powder for my shakes. Not far from the liquour store, there was a Whole Foods Market. They had the egg white powder. We also looked across the street at Cost Plus. I was looking for SF syrups, especially chocolate for my shakes. They did not have any. We walked around the liquor store for a while. My DH got some brandy from a distillery we had visited a couple of times when we were in California. I got a bottle of creme brulee liqour and chocolate mint cookie liquor. I figure I can add a teaspoon to my shakes and have it have about the same impact as adding vanilla. After we got home, I ordered pizza. I was driving to pick up my order. I had a strong feeling I should stop at a nearby supermarket. {This supermarket also had the egg white powder, but it was a $1 more for the same size canister I had gotten at Whole Foods.} After some searching, we found the aisle with the diet products and they had Atkins SF chocolate syrup.

How is everyone else's weekend going????

I have read a lot here about CAD but don't really know what it is. How does it differ from Atkins?

Izzy,

I just posted a new topic that answers your question about the plan.

It's kind of interesting. As you might know, I have been quite vocal about my doing CALP. One of the teachers at the school I am at stops me almost every day and confesses if she has eaten too many carbs the day before. She asks questions about her food choices. I do try to encourage her to cut down on the carbs and benefit from it. I just think it's interesting about the confession part of it. If it helps her, more power to her!

I have decided to do CALP because of the ease, but I am really paranoid about gaining weight on it. I did it for a few days but would binge on the RM. Ugh! About how many calories can the reward meal be and still allow weight loss? Thanks!

Welcome, heartpwr.

This thread is going on 5 years since someone posted to it, so I'm not sure the writer will catch your post.

How about introducing yourself in the introductions section? I'm sure the community would like to say hello.

If you tend to overdo on the RM, maybe a different lc plan would work for you?
