Went out to lunch @ Perkins. Odered a burger. It comes with fries as a side, I asked what other options I could have and the waitress listed a bunch of carbfull foods. When I obviously looked disapointed, she asked what I was looking for and I mention brocholli. She said it's not suppose to be a replacement but since no one actually asks for a veggie in place of fries, she's be glad to do it. Isn't that sad that the world is full of foods to help people maintain over-weight lifestyles and it's out of the norm to ask for veggies?

I also think it's siily for a restaurant to charge you more for veggies or a salad when you ask for them instead of fries or some other carby food.

Like if I want breakfast without toast or pancakes, hash browns, but with a salad, my meal will increase in price instead of staying the same, even though I am gettin much less food.

Sometimes I think the charge is not so much for the food, but because someone actually has to think and go an extra step to change the plate.

Judy,

I don't keep the updated weight in the signature line. I am close to 230 pounds. I just got my TOM, so I don't think I'll go under it this week. But, when I do, I will have lost 150 pounds from my highest weight so far.

I think I had seen your current wieght on another thread --- maybe the challenge. You should update your weight in the sig line. It's an inspiration for others to see what can be acomplished. Again, Congratulations.

I do post my current weight every day when I do my daily journal.

Thank-you. It helps me be better if I can help others be better too.

Hope:
Cedar Pizza in my hometown is so flexible they will go out of their way to cook green beans (my personal fav) as a substitution for fries even though they have to do it from scratch. Do I eat there often? You betcha! Any restaurant that won't subsitute or charges extra for subs is scratched off my list and I never go there again. But as you mentioned, it is very sad that you were the only one that asked for a low carb substitution for all those other high carb choices.
